ok so, IF it really is 24k, how do you tighten them? could you show me a close up picture of them? i was thinking of having something else done, but not plated, more like molded. i just want to see if it is dented twisted or anythign at all because 24k is wayyyyyy too soft to have pressure put on them, like tightening your lugs

Off the top of my head an older Accord exhaust also uses it, I'm sure there are more than that though.

I think it's pretty rare none-the-less but not worth tons of cash. I'm selling mine if you can find someone who wants it.

Most people prefer the non-usdm one unfortunately.

i dont know much about mugen but i sure as hell know alot about 24k gold which is why i wanted ask him about his lugs, ppl dont really dip in 24k.. most dont even coat with 24.. 24 is way too soft to coat anything, and if 24k is mixed with anythign at all, it wouldnt be 24k anymore... im sure you CAN just coat lugs with 24k.. but they will purely be for cosmetics ONLY. any prssure to them at all will cause they gold to break off..

as for price, i dont know what they use, or if its even real gold or not. but the real gold has been going up the past couple years, so for a full set of lug nuts, with a thin, veryyyy thin coat of 24k, will be in ther range of 300-400, probly more... price wont sound right to most ppl here, but anyone who knows gold should tell you the same thing. my ring with a letter "M" on it cost over 200 and im sure that wouldnt even be enough to coat a full set of lugs.

USDM? It was made by Mugen in Japan. The tip is on other JDM exhausts. It was produced for the us market, but not made in the US. Obviously.

Hey whats this world coming to? Ultra rare exhaust being reduced to 2 letters that really dont mean anything. Unfortunately since nobody could care less they will be missing out on a muffler that sounds and performs just like a JDM tipped one. I'm sure someone will buy it on Ebay for $300 or so. Just thought I'd get the correct info to let people know. Most people will prolly think it is an OBX knock-off.

Thanx for the info.

ok cool no problem, i would never coat lugs anyways in case it falls off, because it is way too easy for it to fall off... and to my knowledge, tightening them enough to hold on wheels would cause it to break. trying to keep them in good condition would mean i wont be able to drive on them. i hope your method of tightening them is safe

if you dont mind me asking, how many ounces of gold did you use to coat them lugs?

thats good

well in case anyone else wanna know who might want to do this or somethign else in 24k... i just found out gold went up again, 1.6 ounce = $1000 usd, and of course labor will be extra.so for a full set of lugs, i say youll probably need $3000 bucks

The gold plating could have been coated OVER with say a thin clear coat to protect the plating, maybe...
