its cause the hood latch gets all rusty,/grease built up etc. and when people pull the cable it snaps.. easy fix is to buy a new 40 dollar cable and clean the hell out of the hood latch and keep it well lubed!!! no more problems!
just so you know if your honda dealer is awesome they will give it to you free cause there is a service bulletin for them!

That, and the fact that the release is a "pull" type instead of a "lever" like on EG/DC
BTW, my release is broken too. One day I'll get around to installing the new one I have...

I actually took the whole thing apart and the reason that it breaks is that the line over time looses its lubrication and sticks, thus you pull too hard and break the ****** handle off. Ha, I found something Honda poorly engineered.

And this if a regular Mugen CTR. Still hottness. I was thinking if I ever got a Mugen Si I would do a front end conversion and get that Mugen lip and get some bronze GP wheels. The Mugen SI is really a few years to late for the states, I think had this come out after the DC ITR this thing would have sold like hot cakes. I also think you will be able to pickup a Mugen Si for a good price in a few months.

i think front AND back conversion would be nice, i hate the back lights for the SI.
The mugen CTR rear lights kinda looks like RSX and the 98+ accord lights hahah

The Mugen DC5 dead pedal install into an EK:

For those you dont know, King states that this will fit with slight modification, so I decided to give it a whirl. I bit off a little more then I can chew. Factory dead pedal comes out easy with the (2) 10mm bolts holding it.
The angle of the floor/wall is definitely different in the EK then in the DC5, the DC5 seems a whole lot more mellow and when I just set the dead pedal in there, there was a gap. You can also see that it sits pretty vertical.

Then there is the whole issue of mounting the thing. There arent any holes obviously to mount it because it isnt intended for this car so I am going to have to improvise. Once I have the carpet and all the plastics out (which I have to remove anyway to prep for my cage) I'll try and devise a better way of making this work. I would like to get it in the car at this angle:

Regardless, I just thought i'd show you guys what it might be like if yout try this. I should have my end results up mid-next week because I am finally done this semester and have a little free time, I'd do it this weekend but I gotta work on the daily and my brakes on the EK. The rest will be up then. And dont judge the dirty clutch pedal there were ****** leaves everywhere at my house

Nice write up so far, and let us know when you get it mounted in the car.
I think I still would like to try this in my EG, maybe I'll buy one in the next month or so.
Christmas has put a lock on my Mugen purchases...lol.
