to build your own mugen si would be cheaper than buying it from the dealer. period. not saying it still wouldnt cost a good bit but still better than the usdm version.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by NIKE SB’d &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Just out of my own curiosity I decided to price out the parts... All prices taken from King's site

Mugen front lip (for JDM model, they don't have USDM available on king) $450
Mugen grill (same story) $318
Mugen side skirts $505
Mugen rear lip $450
Mugen wing $450
Mugen sport suspension kit $1100
Mugen Axle-back $790, I'll estimate the full cat-back at $1100
Mugen GP 18X7.5 $710 each $2840
Mugen 6 SPD shiftknob $99
Tires ~$400
Paint/labor for parts~$600

Grand total to turn your normal 4 door Si into a "mugen" car

$8312

So I actually think it's an even better deal than I thought...

</TD></TR></TABLE>

the gp wheels are ebay special at 1800 so thats almost another grand savings!

plus i can choose my own color even though i like the blue lol

No, not even close. his S1R "Prototype" seats were ALL black except for the red stitching...

And the Mugen Si looks crazy good in person... pictures don't do it ANY justice. Not saying that I would use that same money for a nice down payment on a new NSX, but just saying...

and damn Vega, j00 slow if you could only keep up with one.

those numbers for tires and paint are a little underestimated but looks pretty decent pricing wise.

And this if a regular Mugen CTR. Still hottness. I was thinking if I ever got a Mugen Si I would do a front end conversion and get that Mugen lip and get some bronze GP wheels. The Mugen SI is really a few years to late for the states, I think had this come out after the DC ITR this thing would have sold like hot cakes. I also think you will be able to pickup a Mugen Si for a good price in a few months.

Like you said other than that, the center material and no cloth cover for the back I see no difference.

There are at least two of them in the DC area that the high volume dealers cannot seem to unload at the sticker price, no mark-up.

I think it's a shame because if they cannot sell these few Mugen Si, then I think Honda's going to take it as a bad sign for the Civic CTR.

It'd be their standard game for Honda to consider bringing over the CTR at the same time they'd be considering a Facelift for the Civic. If they don't see a CTR-like car as enough of an image builder that it creates more interest in the car, then I don't think they're going to do it.

I'll go out on a limb and guess around $24,500 when new.

But still no CTR...Id buy a new CTR hatch or sedan truthfully being the EP is abuot paid off
