I'm trying to find white lug nuts for extended lugs for my white MF10's...so they could match. Do you guys recommend I get them powdercoated or does someone out there actually make white open ended lugs?

Agreed. I will get in touch with Hung every 2 weeks for an update. Contacting him on a daily or even weekly basis won't accomplish anything. For all those currently involved in this transaction, please email me at UTHmedstoodent@aol.com. I will provide updates privately as they come. I'm not on H-T very often, so if somebody else here has a question/concern regarding Hung's current shipment, please refer them to me.

Anyway I guess I should post something Mugen-related. Here's my Mugen-powered (MF-204B) Dallara F394 racecar formerly raced by Ralf Schumacher. Authentic 163-hp Mugen race motor derived from a B20A5 (Prelude) along with Mugen ITBs and a 22mm CF Mugen air restrictor. The car is made entirely out of carbon-fiber. Pretty neat for 1994 technology. And I hope to finally run it next week. And no, that's not me in the car, it's one of my friend's kid.

not sure if I will go bigger mainly cause these GSRs barely clear my drag slicks set up (13" ftl but more tire the better for lower 60' times)

warning: not mugen

but do plan on upgrading everthing else in the brake system (MC, prop valve, lines, pads, rotors, and to finish it off motul fluid )

willwoods look sick for sure though and fill up those fresh mf8s quite nicely

those are as pretty close to white as I've seen (look great on mag blue too)

but if you want really want to truly color match them 100% then powdercoat would be your best bet...just gotta choose which kinds to have done

wanted to have my skunk2s done forever...cause they are super light but kind of ugly

although they don't look too bad on bronze cause they are close in color/shade and match pretty well (cell phone )

would you do the caps too to match?

Question is would the powdercoat be durable enough to handle the torque wrench and not chip? I'm not sure what most manufactuers use on their lug nuts, I just always assumed powdercoat.

No, I have blue caps. I want white lugs because of the red writing and blue caps...I didn't want to clutter the rim with a bunch of different colors on it.

Yes, something like that, I'm hoping for champ white lugs but I doubt anyone makes them. I was thinking even basic white would work though. Are those custom painted or somebody makes them?

What you could to is get a can of rubber tool dip and dip the lugnut socket in it. It creates a thin rubber coating (like you find on the handles of pliers).

Not sure if it'd be thin enough to still fit over the lugnut though.

Even if that wouldn't work out, powdercoat is pretty durable. Not bullet proof, but hey ... all colored lug nuts chip.

thats what i would be worried about is chipping

but if jimmy/rareEG2 can keep his 24k gold plated lugs from chipping with his super secret slick method of loosening and tightning them then there's a possibility to keep them intact...just takes time, patience, practice and care I assume

i'm going to say a majority of manufactures anodize their lug nuts? or some special durable coating or finish?

no point in having good brakes if your tires will just skid right?

ahh I see...red white and blue would be enough colors
but then why not blue or red lugs?

wow, never heard of tool dip...sounds like a great idea
maybe use the next size bigger socket (maybe in standard cause theres the little play that you get when you use 13mm on a 1/2 bolt which could be perfect for the extra thickness from the coating)

powercoat definitely &gt; just paint

they chip as well as fade too (how many pink/red or teal/blue or black/gray rays lugs have you seen? )

Hmmm maybe jimmy can chime in and share the secret.

For tires...if you talk to any mechanic or track guy, they will all tell you the same thing. Tires are the most import part when it comes to braking. Even "BrakeExpert" on here says the same thing.

I thought of the blue lugs, but I think it will still be too flashy. I was originally going to go with black lugs and keep it simple, but if I could get white ones, that would be top off the look of the MF's

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Eran &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">What you could to is get a can of rubber tool dip and dip the lugnut socket in it. It creates a thin rubber coating (like you find on the handles of pliers).

I think that rubber dip would come off, if not it will be hard to clean off, especially with all the brake dust flying around the area and it being white.

Coloured lug nuts usually do chip, but I was told MCguard has a life time warranty on their nuts claiming they will never chip.

the only problem with that:
