^^ I'm not bashing but that really sounds more like Driver's error.
I overcooked my Azenis at the AutoX yesterday too on my 3rd run. It was totally a driver's error on my part. I was completely overdriving the car. I slowed down on my 4th run and won my class.

so I think I "narrowed" it down to:
a. Falken Azenis
b. BF G-force KWDs
c. Advan A048
d. Potenza RE01R/RE070
but also heard great things about the Hancook RS2s, Dunlop Star Specs, and now the Toyos

It doesn't make sense for you to get R compound tires for mostly street driving lol

also something that I will last a bit and won't have to replace right away after only a couple of uses...I'd like to replace them as often or less than my drag slicks (expensive as well)
then again the azenis I can get for cheap so it won't be so bad if they wear fast...
but ya, pretty much came to the conclusion the azenis are the best value for performance and a good "entry" level "sticky" tire to try out, get used to, and learn with

i've heard over and over the problem in the rain, which many other "peformance" tires seem to lack in that area as well, but its no problem since I avoid driving in the rain as much as possible and if I get caught I take it easy....
which G-forces were you talking about? the sport of the kdws?
thanks for the input btw

from least to most grippy right? I would assume so cause why else would you change from azenis to XS's if you didn't want more grip lol
I understand why not to run R compounds on the street (same mentality as why I don't run full slicks and skinnies on the street either
lol but not to that extreme)thanks for the websites too...looking for someplace to get the best deal

R compounds would only go on a set of spare rims only for the track that I change and use only there (rotas?

I had the old Azenis on another car I had and it was phenomenal, but was down 100whp or so. I mean if you never want to go past 1/2 throttle then yeah Azenis will work.

which is the opposite of me with mainly on the street for daily and "spirited" driving and occassional event, which I'm just starting to venture away from drag racing (where my street wheels and tires don't matter) into auto-x for the first time (noob), hence why I'm trying to prepare and get knowledge from experienced people
but ya, with my stock base model only pushing out 160whp (but 150ft-lbs tq) adn 2400lbs with me in it, so azenis or any other performance street tire/non r-compound might suffice for me...plus the fact that I'm a noob
i'm sure you must feel like the man driving r compounds on the street tho

want a set quite badly to be able to switch it up as I please according to my mood (like I do with my **** *****, ***** or billet, and want to do with my steering wheels...got the suede and want leather which I won't feel as bad about holding and fading as the suede

The tires just simply don't work with my setup. Or at least not if you want to get the full potential of the car. Granted my car is way lighter than most of your cars. I'll never auto-x again without R comps on that car. The tires once overcooked were trash. When I left the auto-x I was 1/4 throttle in third, and it was like I was driving on ice. Once cooled down they were better, but still junk. I think I expected too much out of those tires.

No shame in that. I do the same. Rims are a wear item at the track.
EDIT: I forgot too mention. Along with rims being a wear item. Also when you upgrade your brake pads for AutoX/track and they start throwing pounds of corrosive dust at your rims. This is exactly why I don't own a set of Mugen rims......yet. I have 6 sets of rims and a Mugen aint 1.

I have been running Kuhmo's this year for autox.

And here is a shot running the 32's at Road ATL. A guy came up to me and said his brother has the same Rota's I have. I got a nice little inner laugh at that.

wow, than silly question, why not go with dunlops? lol
ya the track give quite a beat on your parts, cosmetic and performance wise
I figure that about the corrosive brake dust...which is why I figure HPS is more suited for me than HP+
thats one reason I'm glad I have bronze versus white like I wanted...they are practically brake dust colored and don't show it as bad as white would, which would bother the hell out of me and have to clean them all the time

The only downside to the Dunlops right now is their sizes for our cars. They are only offering a 15" size that fits. Whereas the Kumhos or Azenis
offer a wider range of options. When put into that context the Briddgestone REO1R really shine even thought they are more expensive.
I'm not confusing you, am I?
I would really recommend HP+ over HPS. Here is a great link on the subject.

Well I just got a text from Mr Hungpham....and I'm sure others have to. Looks like he's still working on getting the issue worked out on the shipment. The Container is here in the US, and he will keep us updated once he finds out more information. As of now he doesn't have a "exact" date of release.

ahh..i think i've already been told that but forgot again

I really like the RE01Rs ever since I saw the CR with the RE70s (was told the Rs are the same "class" but better/best)
oh really...i think i read through that thread before when I was looking to but, but never got a true answer/result and it seemed undecided (like the case with kuhmos and azenis i'm sure and same thing with catch can/pvc/vc arrangement for a K-series...still don't know the true right answer and ongoing debate over)

I am guessing you are refferring to AutoX classes? The ST class in particular.
That would be true but dont feel that you have to have the widest tires possible to be competitve at AutoX. If I had to choose between max size or max grip, I would take max grip every time.
For example: A 215 Azenis is slower than a 195 Durezza star spec z1.

Yep, the RE01Rs are def better. The RE070R is a run flat tire which means they are going to be heavy for your needs.
I can help with a catch on a B but I have no idea about the K although I bet they are the same, basically.
