so being new to thread less head sets I was wondering about one thing. The stem I have right now has a allen key on the top to tighten it into the stear tube, the stems that are "blank" on top (like the one pictured) is the allen key to tighten into the stear tube on the botton that you access from the bottom of the fork?
thanks

Umm that isn't a threadless headset lol. Furthermore that's Nathan's bike. Furthermore still, the allen bolt on the top of the stem on Nathan's bike is to secure the stem inside the steerer tube... hopefully that answers the question.
thanks

Sorry, I really didn't ask the question in the best way. Forget thresded or thread less for a minute. From what I have see as far as stems go there ore ones that slip over the stear tube and get tightened by two bolts (most high end Mt. bikes and BMX bikes) then there are the ones in the pic I posted

The one I have has the allen head key on the top, this one doesn't seem to have one on the top so how is it attached? (can one tighten the allen head key from the bottom of the fork/stear tube? Or how?) and the bike looks great.

It does have one on top and it fastens exactly how yours does. You just can't see it from the angle the pic was taken but it's there, I promise.

Find me this alleged stem, I've never seen one or heard of one. Threadless hs stems clamp around the headset, threaded go into the steerer tube. Never heard of anything else for a road/track bike.
