Yea, $6 of that is shipping & tax. It isn't that bad really. Sorry to disappoint some of you, but to some it saves them the hassle.

Riding fixed is no joke, u have to enjoy it somewhat to deal w/the risk and concentration needed... most people just don't get it, or care

Plus in NYC biking is the fastest way to get anywhere, and it's also healthy

It doesn't hurt that there is a whole subculture here about it... I'm not gonna turn down a fixed gear groupie, and I've met a lot of cool peeps

But yea the term 'fashion bikers' is asinine, I used to do freestyle biking as a kid; I've always been into them. But w/e

So my friend's cousin just biked from Charlotte, NC to Augusta, GA yesterday on his fixie. He got two flats and broke a seat post clamp, but he made it. 200+ mile trip in 9 hours. I can't say anything anymore. Brakeless & helmetless too, not very bright in the helmet decision.

u will need some precise like a caliper because they range from like 26.0 - 27.2 with .2mm incriments. and as i've found out...the .2mm really DOES matter, so get the proper one.

measure the inside of your seatpost tube and purchase the "same" numbered post.

ie. i have a 27.0mm seat tube post and bought a 27.0mm seat post

hope that answers something
