he couldnt get it off or something, but i agree it is high

so im gonna start building my own bike pretty soon, just couple of questions before:

Whats the advantage of the foot straps?

Can i get away with just the front brake, or do i have to have both?

A) do some research..just like here on HT. check out bikeforums FG/SS forum. B) try going down a hill with no foot straps and youll know exactly what i mean, not to mention a natural postion for pedaling. one brake is fine.. i run one myself.

you won't say "it's a bike" when you ride some shoddily-crafted heap right through a stoplight and injure yourself.

Well considering that you think it's a billboard, then it's no different than any other bag or any other accessory, part, clothing that anyone has on or on their bike. We're all walking ads, it makes no difference if you're using a saglife bag or a target messenger bag, you're still advertising that product to other people. If you are not one of the hipsters/hypebeasts (no offense) that like this product, then please disregard. no flames/no offense to anyone. Just wanted to give my .02

Made the switch to clipless and just loving how my feet are molded onto my pedals

Not fixed gear...but picked up a commuter over the weekend so I don't have to trip about rain and loose ball bearings:
