i'd say go with the custom painted, but who knows how long that would take to arrive.

So I am thinking of converting my Raleigh Supercourse12. Its from the 70's.
http://www.bikecult.com/works/....html

I am 50/50 on deciding wheter to keep it retro and the leave the frame a weathered metallic brown color and keeping the drop handle bars or painting the frame and changing the handle bars.

how would a 70's Schwinn be for converting to fixed? something like the schwinn contintental

i know they aren't horizontal drops but it could be good enough, i would run a front brake and just want it basically to learn on and cruise around

Mine? Yeah, they are real nice. I just went for a spin a minute ago after I got them installed. They are 40cm Profile Design Air Wing's. $40 from JensonUSA.com

The saddle is new also. Its an Eastern "Tight *** Seat." I'm not sure how much I like the fit yet. I really wanted a Brooks B-17 saddle but didnt have the cash and this Eastern seat was cheap and looks good.

I heard it only hurts during "the break in period." And then it fits like a glove. I want to find a worn in one to try out before I drop $100 bucks on one. This Eastern saddle is a BMX saddle and not terribly comfortable for cruising around.
