i asked how much shorter are the konis than the stock shocks?
i dont race or care about racing....
not sure what your basing your assumptions on
PM patrick94gsr or whatever his user name is...i think he had stock itr springs on koni yellows with the adjustable perch so he could lower/raise his car while maintaining stock ride quality.

my plan is to use my existing ground control coilovers.
right now i have the GC's all the way down on the stock shocks and its low, but im thinking aftermarket shocks/struts are shorter so it would be lower and stiffer hopefully. currently the stock shocks are blown up front.
I couldn't tell you if they're any shorter because I've personally never owned koni yellows...you could always measure your stock shocks and call koni for an answer...
Honestly...if you have OTS gc rates you could get away w/ stock shocks and extended top hats, or something similar to stock like kyb gr-2's.
But Koni's are of a higher quality than the gr-2's.

if i measure the factory shocks i need to measure from where they connect/unconnect from the "wishbone" looking piece correct?
where do the extended top hats come into place? where do they go? i know there purpose but how do they work?
thanks man
Top hat is taller allowing the shaft to sit higher, making the piston sit higher in the shock. Thus the piston can sit in the correct position inside the shock giving the shock more travel...besides giving a better ride the shock wont blow since the piston isnt sitting hella low.
Haha kevinm you're hilarious. I'm sure if someone wants their car at stock height they're not going to pay $500+ for konis. If anything they would change the springs. Not everyone on konis is slammed, but most are lowered. God, I hope when I'm 30 or whatever you are I'm not unemployed and have to resort to starting pointless arguments on the internet.
And yes, the sp3 is a koni strut that is like 20mm shorter than the regular yellow ones. If you are all the way on gc's then you would definitely want to invest in an aftermarket strut that can handle being lowered.
