Thanks! Finished up the transmission this evening-

I got the OEM sticker back on the transmission with some emblem adhesive that's made for plastic and made a little stencil from a picture online to try and mimic the brand new look of a B16 trans.

Duplicolor Engine Enamel- Cast Coat Aluminum. I did my clappers with it a while back and noticed Evan used it on his A2 trans, so figured I'd give it a shot on the motor and trans.
Thanks guys.
Thanks guys.
Yeah, traded labor and some troubleshooting time for the LS longblock and an old friend let me make payments on the transmission, starter and shift linkage. The rest of the parts I had been saving up to buy for a while and finally pulled the trigger.
Thanks whiteslips still need the trans but im finally paying off that med bill that was holding me back so i should have the car running here soon finally lol i see ur swap is looking really clean gonna change the way ur whole bay looks with that LS. how much longer till ur car is ready for it?

Hopefully within a couple years I can get a turbo kit together for the LS. We'll see how that goes. If a good deal comes along on a GSR or ITR longblock I'll definitely go that route instead.
Paying off bills is definitely more important than building a car. That's part of the reason why I am doing a swap 7 years after I bought my car haha. Thanks man, I'm hoping to put the motor in mid September. I have a car show that I want to enter September 9th, so I'm going to keep it running with the SOHC until then and then start tearing it apart the following week. The bay itself won't change, but this motor will be MUCH cleaner and well put together than the D15 is now. I've never actually had the D15 all the way out of the car, so I'm anxious to clean up the subframe and wiring when I get the motor out.

you should just do a Ls-vtec conversion im pretty sure ur not gonna be racing the car but at least ull have the look of the Vtec valve cover.
For 7 years I said "Maybe next month I can start saving for a swap" and something on my girl's truck would break or our washer would die or a bill came up that we had to pay off or I cut my finger and had to spend $1500 on stitches, then we got married and had to pay for some stuff for the wedding, bought a house, bought another car that we modded, were fixing up our house and trying to go on vacations and the poor Civic just got back burnered for what seems like an eternity now. Somewhere in there we made an error on our taxes and owed a retarded amount of money to the IRS which drained my motor swap fund to $0 after a few years of saving. Feels good to get **** moving finally.
I've always wanted a GSR or ITR motor in my car, but LS-Vtec is another option too I guess. I'd love to race my car at our local road course and plan on hitting the drag strip before I swap the motor just to see how slow it is now. Should be interesting. I'm guessing 17.0 from the stock motor and I would hope it's in the high 14s, low 15s with the LS and B16 Trans.

WhiteSlips - Maybe piece together a turbo kit?
My homie had a LS Turbo EG Hatch on 8lbs, fully tuned and it lasted for a good 3-4 years with all stock internals. He put down 225whp and was just walkin on people. He beat the living hell out of it too, LS's are tough motors!

idk about how easy it is to find parts where ur at whiteslips but we pieced together a pretty nice turbo kit for my friends Ls too with Name brand parts the only thing that wasnt name brand was the holset hx35 turbo. but he spent like 1000 at most on the parts. he ended up having to pay off a bill and sold the complete kit with injectors and fuel pump for 500 bucks lol
^ Definately. Turbo is a lot of fun. LS and B20s has so much torque, but lacks top end but that's when boost comes into play. I put down 210whp in my DB, and s2000s, 350z, G35, ITRs, GSR/LSV/ITR EGs couldn't even touch me off the line or freeway and that was in a Sedan with FULL interior. I could only imagine how faster it would be in a EG. Haha.
My LS has been making right around 300whp since about 05 or 06. Granted its not a daily any more but I have put about 45,000 miles on the motor boosted. I used to drive it from Seattle to Idaho several times a month when I first got it due to my then g/f living out there also and was averaging about 34 mpg
Golden Gardens Meet!......interesting day haha! I fought a crack head at the jack in the box down on 99 right before the meet. Dude followed me into the parking lot, took his shoes off and punched me with both fists lol Was on after that!
Meet was a lot of fun though....I think maybe 2009?
