So, my car hasn't been starting since I replaced 2 bent valves.... then today I decide to take the head off of my z6 and check on it to see if I put it back together right, and decide to take off my bisi cam gear and put a stock one just in case the marks were wrong. Come to find out, the woodruff key on the cam gear was broken IN HALF and the cam gear spun almost a full 360 on the cam shaft... So i put my stock one on and car started right up... LMAO after SO LONG.
motor is close to being done machine work/balancing/P&P head is all done assembly will start once i get my cam gears and ls-v kit tomorrow gonna go buy the oil pump water pump and t belt. hopefully soon itll be done, just running out of money lol

I swapped mine with a 98 spec motor with 34,000 first of April Last Year and I had a B16 in the car before and it is night and Day different!!!! I raced a car the other night that I had run when I had my B16 and me and him were like mirror to mirror to like 120 (we both had B16's) but the other night I gave him a half a car jump and passed him and pulled him like 5 cars before 120 lol.

I just got a 97 longblock since my S4C trns had less than 20k miles on it, and I got it through zerolift since they were pretty local, only took one day to get here. Also if I had issues I could just drive there.
But a night and day difference compared to my gsr IMO
And ill get some pics up here soon, I need to finish up a new valve cover I've been working on

I just got a 97 longblock since my S4C trns had less than 20k miles on it, and I got it through zerolift since they were pretty local, only took one day to get here. Also if I had issues I could just drive there.
But a night and day difference compared to my gsr IMO

been a lurker on this thread for a while since i got my new hatch
but heres a little info it was my buddys they stole it, stripped the interior,front end and rims but left the dash,the vx single vtec,and the brand new function form
oh and they sprayed like fake snow all over the car and kicked in the quarters but im saving for paint now
heres some before pics

thanks man the body still needs work cause the front end i just threw on from old parts laying around and gotta work on the quarters but im gonna order a new front end through my job in a couple weeks and let my boy who paints respray the whole car and chill getting 50mpg

Hey guys , well after a good full year of kicking my b18c r's *** Im starting to see some smoke. Through vtec crossover everything is clear ,no smoke.But when I give it all it has through 1st 2nd 3rd 4th and stop at the light.Black smoke starts coming out the muffler.Im starting to think that the valve seals might need to be changed. I still feel like the car is very alive , throttle response is great ,so that kind of makes me feel like the engine aint about to fry...The car doesnt seem to burn a bad amount of oil , Im thinking its the valve seals , Im hoping the cylinders havent ovaled up like eggs.Any advice on what I should check first??
