I was thinking about your car tonight and the thought of a K-series popped in my head. You said it will be down for a while, and you don't have ABS like me, and people are doing K-swaps for cheaper and cheaper everyday by using K24A1 bottom ends. A B-series in your car would no doubt be sick, but your car is one of the cleanest and needs a K-swap.

I have three cars, a car payment, mortgage, two cell phone bills, utilities, insurance on my house and three cars, property taxes, have to buy gasoline and food, and most importantly have a wife to take care of. A K-Swap is completely out of the question. I have no credit cards, and definitely would never put car parts on credit. I can probably come up with the money for a B-Swap in the next year, but no way could I afford a K-Swap.

Yeah everything is out of the question when you're living paycheck to paycheck.

Sorry to here about the motor man. I agree with them your car was definatley one of the cleanest single cams out. My single jingle gave out about that same mileage. I got my first B16 swap after that.

I know you say K series is out of the question but now days it can be done fore cheap and still be really nice. Check K20a.org for deals or you could PM me if your really interested.

That's $2-3K more than a B16..... I think for that money I'd rather do a B18C JDM ITR swap. Yeah, priorities change as you get older for sure. When I built my first hatch I would have just ran out and got a loan and threw the motor in there. That is definitely not going to happen now.

I'm not living paycheck to paycheck, but when I put money aside it is for emergency situations (House repairs, repairs to the daily drivers, etc.) not for a car I drive on the weekends.... I have all the money in savings and could drop my savings on a swap, but that wouldn't be a very smart thing to do when you have a lot of other things that could break or come up.

Thanks man. I've played with the idea of throwing another D15B7 in it and do a Bisi cam/valvetrain, decent header and a nice tune. I could do all that for less than $1,500 and still hold on to my single cam title haha.

d15b7 would be a complete waste of money. you can get a complete z6 swap on ebay for $1000 shipped to your house

I'm going to be pulling my Si's motor/trans soon. Not sure if that's an option for you (not even sure what's a fair price).

I remember when single cams used to be $200-300 bucks max lol. I guess supply and demand kicked in cause they're harder to find these days. Plus people are actually building them when before they were throwing them in the trash.

I remember back in the day we had 2 or 3 SOHCs and Transmissions sitting in our storage collecting dust because no one would buy them. I don't know what we ever did with them, but wish I had them laying around now.....

Ok, stupid question, but looking at the pretty red VX/GSR pics before, what function do the 2 hoses on the upper valve cover serve? I see that one is connected to an oil-cathc can but it thought that was a setup to use when u boosted an engine...

It's not the first engine that states N/A but has those valve cover lines in it... Figured you all hear could teach me something or remind me of something i forgot...

thanks!

I've got a d15b7 that i've had for like 5 years, too bad you're so far away. Im debating on swapping it out in place of my z1 but I dont know if it'd be worth the trouble.

that's what i was thinking... but why for an N/A setup (maybe those cars that I see pics of that have it have built internals with high compressions and such, then i guess I could understand)... ?

to each his own i guess, no bashing, i'm just curious
