thanks .. yeah i am not really sure what to do .. prolly keep it .. i would feel like such a a$$ puttin a k20 in that ..lol maybe il just buy another chasis
Is that setup the best for the EH2/EH3? Its like everyone says FTW on it lol. Id like to invest in suspension because its a very important part of the whole driving experience and everyone knows that. Im clueless when it comes to which one I should pick. I dont really know whats out there. So what are the top setups that people here have liked? Especially ones that are good for daily driving? Thank you guys

rates are pretty fricken high (16K front, 14K rear), but my good, the damping is so well matched that it feels only a hair more firm than my previous Tein's at 8K,6K...i'm actually impressed with this japanese suspension.
the reason it only feels a hair softer is because the shocks are probably poorly matched to the springs, IMO. I have no experience with spoon and haven't seen them on the shock dyno but Id think its safe to assume they are too expensive for what you get. Just my .o2
Unfortunately, i wasn't able to find a shock dyno locally and i don't want to send my 'too expensive for what you get' shock out to someone in another country. just my 2 cents as well
My thoughts exactly, thats why I ask if the koni yellows/ground controls setup is the best for a daily driven car. How expensive is it, anyone know? Id also like to get something adjustable bc I dont want to drive around bouncing over bumps lol. Mainly daily! Are the koni/gc an adjustable setup? Sorry for the bombardment of questions!

i'm not sure how much the GC combo is in your area, but over here, it's just over 1G.
when you say adjustable, what are you referring to? height, damping, preload? let us know what you want out of your car
Oh I understand completely! HBK: Adjustablility is rather a diluted term. Koni's are infinitely adjustable b/c they have a twist dial on the top...
HBK - here's a link of an HT sponsor if you're curious about pricing for the combo...

is your car going to be strictly a daily driver and not see any track? if that is the case, i would just get a set of H&R springs, koni yellow, and call it a day.

My car will be mainly a daily drive but I want to hit up the track someday but considering the lack of them in Massachusetts, I might go very few times if at all. I dont know what preloading is lol. Id like to be able to adjust height and maybe dampness. All I want is to have a car that feels newer lol, 5th gens are already old in automotive terms and they don't feel like the newer cars, at least not on a stock suspension. Mines the only civic I've been on haha. No local honda friends ftl.
Look into what the Road Race Autox forum guys do. They know whats up, thats where I started to learn suspension setup. After that my friend Brandon really taught me a lot. There are lots of ways to do it.
What does the dial adjust? Dampness?
Ah thank you guys so much. Now that light has been shed into the matter, I will have a better idea when I dive into suspension. From my unexperienced eyes I believe I have stock struts and ebay springs(theyre green lol, its gotta be ebay). Ride is nice and its kinda stiff but mushy at braking but yeah decent for a dd.

Preload is when you can put more load on the spring itself without changing vehicle height. more preload generally means a ramped up spring rate or firmer ride and lessens sag (not always a good thing depending on your suspension use).
Preloading your suspension is also a step that you should take when installing suspension on your car (ie: use a jack on the lca to nearly lift the car off the jack stands before you tighten down the bolts).
if your car is feeling old, new coilovers and a full bushing kit will make your car feel new again.
I have my yellows set on 180° (half a turn) for daily driving. Anything over 360° of adjustment is pure business, and the max is 720°. These shocks are also height adjustable (via circlips/c-clips), I have mine on the stock setting (middle notch) but if I wanted to slam it I could.
Nice, I know to take your word for it. You do tasteful mods while keeping it stockish and we both share the same vision. Thats more than likely what I'll end up getting. H&R+koni yellows!
