That's pretty cool then, if it alters the fuel map and all along with the engagement point.

And yea, looks good in the armrest

Why would you raise engagement for long trips??

higher rpm doesn't = vtec. it takes 4 other things.

vtec engagement depends on Rpm, throttle position, map and ???? I can't remember.

If you are cruising and in vtec there's something wrong with your car.

Kind of wondering that also... cruising at 70-80 MPH in 5th gear on the interstate i'm nowhere near VTEC engaging, so I see no need to raise it.

I have a random question...

I installed a 92-95 Civic SiR lip on my del Sol today and it made me think...

We have mounting points on our bumpers for a front lip... where the hell is the OEM Honda del sol front lip then?

Actually, I think there's 6 things total... a minimum speed. VTEC won't engage with the car sitting still in neutral when you rev it that high.

I wouldn't hit VTEC till about 92-95MPH at the stock engagement point with the MFactory 4.92. With the stock final drive, I'd be going about 103-105MPH when I hit VTEC.

I suppose it would be rare (read: never happen) to hit it in 5th gear, but if I dropped to 4th, I'd hit it at about 72MPH. If I wanted to not ever hit VTEC on a road trip, then I could raise it to somewhere in the 6000+ range just to stay away.

so it's more for fuel economy??

and yESSSmAn- resize those pics! hard to get the full scope of the car scrolling back in forth. the 3rd pic is the better at looking for the drop which also looks nice if no rub.

Personally it makes no difference del sol oem lip or the ex civic lip... but i've had my ex since i had my first sol... so maybe i'm just used to having to make lips fit lol.

i've never had a problem with mine, and its 20 screws though.

If I raise it above the factory engagement, yes.

If I lower it, it'll be for digging out of c-boxes and chicanes.

Nope, just doing preparation. Basically finishing a bunch of little projects while I put together the money I need.

Checklist:
======
[X] B16A2
[X] Shift Linkage
[X] Mounts
[X] Throttle Cable
[X] Wire Harness
[ ] Header / Exhaust Manifold
[ ] New O2 Sensor
[ ] Send harness to Chase
[ ] VTEC Radiator
[ ] VTEC B-Pipe
[ ] Timing Belt
[ ] Water Pump
[X] Odyssey PC680
[ ] Relocation Bracket (they sent me the wrong one)
[ ] Relocate fusebox (will happen with the swap)
[ ] Tuck headlight harness

I'm probably missing like a billion things, but it'll happen.
