Glad you got the BOV on alright and you like the sound

have a chance to fix that jumble of mess of vacuum lines?

I've seen amazing results on "all motor turbo" set ups, but its a high risk high reward type thing

If stock motors can handle and achieve amazing hp with a lot of boost with the right tune I'm sure the same holds true with high compression with little boost

What I'm really impressed with and interested in is SC + Nitrous
There's a great thread on K20a I've read countless of times on how to set it up and make it work, but gains on a 30-50shot are almost double with forced induction

Tuning is very important and can make or break these set ups, but there is still a point of too much boost or too high a shot of nitrous beyond the limit a motor can take

my girlfriend had that. she liked it cause it sounded like a "rattle snack" at low boost

my friend had one on his 3000gt, and it didnt sound so hot. but ive seen videos of hondas with them and it has to be one of the best sounding!</TD></TR></TABLE>

thats a pretty good descriptoin

very chattery like there is almost no BOV at all

ya not even on hondas, but supras, skylines, rx-7s, the all sound amazing on those cars <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by WrongWD &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

i have the ssqv, but i had to take out the little 3 spoke "whistler" because i think that high pitched noise is annoying. Now mine just makes a woosh sound, and is pretty quiet really. Hopefully sometime I'll have a chance in the next couple months to recirculate it back into my intake and it should be almost silent </TD></TR></TABLE>

haha, i forgot about those little "insert" pieces
I remember looking into those, there is the gold and purple andodized one you can get for different sounds lol
they also make the recirculation fitting for the SSQV as well, pretty common for stock replacements on stis, evos, srt4s, etc
guess you're going for the sleeper look and sound then huh

i would imagine he would go with a shorter gearing. and even a gsr tranny (usually people go even shorter) on a motor that with a rev limiter at 8500, on on your standard sized street tire will only go ~160,

the only way i could see something going that fast would be an ls tranny/a larger wheel combo.</TD></TR></TABLE>Like i said, he has a custom tranny for that motor build, so I wouldn't look into gearing as much since only he knows what it really is. All I know is he claims it can hit over 190mph, and after opening the hood I would believe it. It's the benefit of going big on a full-race kit and a fully-built motor I guess.

I'm only looking for maybe 200-300whp out of my motor at some point. That is more than enough to get me into trouble

your maplights turn on when you open the doors right? how did you do that? i was thinking ground them normally, then tap into the dome light for the power . but then i could only use the map lights when the dome light is on... what did you do?

I remember when Hondata/Progress/Vortech's civic was the first to go over 200 at bonneville salt flats

Just looked up this pretty cool video/site about thier RSX (K20 SC with spray like I was saying ) that spun out at 227mph but the next day made adjustments and hit a of 234mph :

aerodynamics play such a big role at those speeds

I also remember when top secret had those 2 supras, the white one with the skyline engine making 1000whp+ only had a top speed of like 160, but the gold one with the 4cylinder went 200mph+
Guess the weight difference of the lighter motor was a major factor in getting that car to go that fast

oh and has anyone else seen this video...rx-7 215mph crash?:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...lated

looks like a playing card in the wind

or seen the movie Redline where that lambo loses its wing and flips up in the air?

yup:

well the way I have it wired up is it turns on when open and off when closed

but when you have the door closed you can still turn the light on by pushing the button in or off again when you depress it

just like how a dome light works, three settings: on, off, door (triggered on and off)

but I haven't figured out a way to have it off when the door is open, which is the same as off at all times/no matter what, and thats the last step to make it 100% like a domelight

this is so when I leave the door open for long periods of time, like when working on the car, under the dash for example, which I do frequently, I can just leave it off so it doesn't drain battery (i know its negligible but still...i'm not 100% confident in my lightweight odyssey battery and don't want to make it worse either)

I think it makes a huge difference like getting in and out of the car at night
funny thing is my beater van has lights that open on the lower door panel as well for the very same purpose

I also still have to wire in the passenger side too, but thats not as important

I've also wanted to hook up a set of lights (i know I must sound like I'm getting ricey) between the visors
Another dome light style one or something better/fancier like the dual ones that push on and off?
my buddy has a ghetto rigged on in his del sol that is very useful

despite all the light you get in the car during the day with the top off and sun shining directly in, its horrible at night and can't see anything

how did you accomplish this? where what is telling the map light that the door is open? the dome light power?
are you using a relay? and a power & accessory power kinda deal?
