I'm going to say something about the real vs replica argument, it's going to shock all of you because I've said this before and sometimes I feel no one is paying any attention.

I hope that this is the last time I have to say it here.

Examples
Someone steals my Mugen wing off my car tomorrow. I could get a replica that mounted exactly same. I could put a Mugen emblem on it, and no one would be the wiser.

I hit an armadillo on the freeway tomorrow, and it shatters my Mugen bumper apart. I can buy a replica bumper that is the same as my authentic one.

I would do it too, in both instances.

Why?

Because Mugen no longer supports the del Sol, and other companies (and some independents) have stepped up to the plate to fill the void as best they can while still making a profit for themselves. There is nothing wrong with a good replica piece if the original is discontinued.

The problem would come in when someone asks "Hey is that wing real?" and I say "Yes it is." Consider, I have the instruction manuals, and the boxes to prove that these items are real; I have the mounting tabs, and emblems, to prove that they are real.

...and if they're not real, no one would know but me.

--------------------------

Basically it's a true judge of character and whether or not someone chooses to be honest with themselves and others when they are asked about authenticity.

People with replica parts that claim they are authentic are hypocrites. They don't care about the name, but they want the badge. They don't care about the price, but they spend as little as possible to get as much possible credibility.

1.) Misleading someone into believing their poop is gold is capitalism.
2.) Misleading someone into believing their gold is poop is modesty.

Unfortunately we live in what used to be a capitalist nation, so 1 is the status quo. Once things turn socialist like they will within the next 10 years, none of this will matter anymore because we'll all have nationalized health care and pay 50% of our wages to the government to pay back China.
