NEED HELP FELLAS!
Rad fan wont turn on.
Heres whats up. Finally got the car running again after sitting for 6 months. Thermostat was stuck so it neeed to be replaced. I took that excuse to order a new radiator and fan. Last night I installed the fan and radiator. I cut the stock Fan plug and wired that into the new slim fan. I got everything in and let the air out, in all that time the fan didn't turn on.
I then tested the fuses, relay, wires, everything power related. The fan does come on when hooked to like a jumper so its not that. The thing that makes me wonder is my temp gauge does not work and has not worked for years, would that affect the fan coming on?
I let it run for about 20 minutes inside and the fan didn't come on. I think tonight I will take it for a spin and see if the kicks the fan on. I am also gonna hook up hondata and set the fan to stay on and see if that works to eliminate and wiring/sensor problems. Hondata hasn't worked on my laptop since I reimaged it so hopefully it co-operates with me tonight.
I have heard so many different opinions about wiring the fan to always stay on. What is everyone's input on the topic. I mean I like in MD and it does get kinda hot in the summer and kinda cold in the winter.
Thanks!

if the fan comes on if you jump the jumper wires at the switch. but overheats, then the sensor is bad.
i've had my fan rewired several times, in several different configurations.
direct power & ground and a switch on the power, direct ground, with a switched power when key is on, then those setups always ran sketchy, and scary because there was no relay in the system for it.
then i added in a relay, and a switch inside the car, from there the wires stopped getting hot, was more dependable, but wasnt great, because i still had to switch it on and off. so i finally wired back in the sensor for the switch, with the rest of my stand alone relay & fuse setup.
so pretty much, i made a big mess, and have wires showing, vs keeping the original wiring, and finding out what was wrong..
it all started when i removed AC & the condensor fan. then i started the overheating problem.

Bad Fan Switch??? Try that if not... its probably too Cold in Ur Area to have the fan kick on. Correct me if i am wrong but the fans will only kick on when the engine reaches a certain temperature. And having a busted or nonworking temp gauge is kinda not helping your situation.
I am happen to run my fans constantly on and i have 2 10" slim fans both pushing air towards the block instead of pulling air out. I have no problems whatsoever with running the fans the way i do.

Right now im leaning towards running it constantly. I will either wire it to the ignition or some power source OR program it to always be on through Hondata.
I think it is cold for the fan to kick on, thats why Im gonna go drive it and check the fan.
The Temp gauge has not worked for like 3 years, 2 motors and 2 clusters but the fan has. So I am not to worried about that yet.
Arg why do I love this thing so much!
Thanks for some feedback fellas
