Re: DA Integra's Only
for a short stint i had a jdm b16 with an LS trans and i would beat a LS with a b16 LSD setup.
when i had the full b16 swap, i would beat 94-95 GSR's
driver has a decent amount to do with it too

Re: DA Integra's Only
i know this is off topic but i got pulled over a few mins ago.
got a fix it ticket for: "modified exaust system" which he reffered to the no name short ram that he also called a "cold air intake" and for the lil hose that runs from the VC to the intake pipe, because it was replaced with one of those lil air filters.
the main reason he pulled me over was because i didnt have my front licence plate.
I was told by him that i got to take the car to the state reff and make an apearance to court.
I know some of u guys have had some sort of similar situation.....
my question is, what should i do or not do at court
thanks in advacen

Herb, where did you take that? Rain Forrest?
Eh I'm not gonna knock a B16 as it was my first swap, I liked it. Like anything though, it got old after a while and slow. That's when I threw the jug on it
I got a great deal on mine and couldn't pass it up.
LOL, went 15.0 in it with I/H/E!
Yea, take it apart and find out. I don't think the burnout trick will be definitive enough.
Bar Trick:
When my LSD ate my axle I had to take the drivers side out and use a piece of pipe to get the pass side piece out. This is true!
or apparently:
Operational Check
1. Set the parking brake and block the rear wheels.
2. Raise the front of the vehicle, and support it with
safety stands in the proper locations.
3. With the engine off, shift the transmission into 1st
gear.
4. Rotate either front wheel by hand and check that
the other wheel rotates in the opposite direction.
5. lf the opposite front wheel does not rotate, or if vou
cannot spin the front wheels at all, the limited slip
differential is faulty and should be replaced.

I'm pretty sure he meant just a normal B20.
most b16s are quite boring, especially in a heavy car. i have not been impressed by very many b16s at all. very few and far between. and no, i have never owned on nor do i ever plan to. only way i'd ever own one is if i got it for stupid cheap, put it in a car, and sold the car as soon as it was running to make money.

rear wheel drive, locked rear end(welded dif) S13 yeah, my friend that owns the S13 says it kinda pulls like it has a LSD, but like you said i dont think it does, doesnt help that my passenger side axle is **** and needs replaced. I was told if you pull the axle and look inside the tranny and there is a bar going across the whole its not LSD, if there is no bar, then it has LSD. or you do the burnout trick, and if both tires hook and burnout evenly then it does.
the likely hood of it being LSD is slim i know, but one can only hope

Pretty sure all 1st gen B16's were 160 and all JDM 2nd gens were 170. I know some early model B16s made 150 just not sure what they came in.
Ehhh, your comment about a "stock B20" making more power isn't necessarily true. You could slap a Vtec head on a B20 block and still not make that much power. So many factors come into play its tough to say anyway.

Re: DA Integra's Only
i find this hard to believe, the amount of power between a LS and a GSR is very noticeable, if anything that set up might hold a against a GSR for a sec or two, the GSR has more horsepower, just plain and simple.
my GSR with a LS trans will rape a LS with a GSR trans, i ll put money on it.
and dont you mean YS1..?

im not saying that the gsr is weak but the ls in its power is a strong engine, to redline it out powers b16s and is comparable to gsr engines. and im also speaking from experience, my ls was also a whole lot faster than the rest of the ls engines i raced i averagely pulled other ls's about 2-3 cars on my shorted geared tranny. hell even with the 4.4 a1 trans i had.
gah it sounds like im back in Hs talking about the ls. now im a vtec happy and ****.

Make a weekend of it, 5 hours is a lot but still possible. For VIR, it's well worth it. That track is very nice. You just have to bring spares with you so you can make it home if something happens, make sure the car is in tip-top shape mechanically and you're good.

I would have to readjust the suspension and especially the tune! and get some better tires. Maybe other time with another car!
