How so? In terms of Apples to Apples here. An LS for an LS or an RS for an RS, no Type-Rs. I think they would be equal unless you bring a Type-R into the equation.

Because of structural weakness common to the DA chassis, it is the one place of importance in overall vehicle improvement. The amount of high-tension steel used in the DA chassis is 25% less than in that of its predecessor, the DC, which also consists of 4-plate welds (not incorporated on the DA) resulting in a 125% stiffer chassis. The DC chassis also features increased stiffeners and spot welds, and an overall higher load capacity due in part to its
superior monocoque design.
superior monocoque design.
Both chassis have spot welds because a robot can't reach every area.
Even so, on the topic of stiffness, when you build a true weld-in cage it makes up for any inferiority in stiffness!
The bit about steel, 25% less steel = 25% less weight. So it's stiffer, It's also now heavier.

The Si-VTEC and SiR Integras (also GS-R) are still "base models" (as in, not Type R) and are also DC2 chassis. These are still superior to the DA chassis in terms of rigidity. The mere design of the chassis itself is superior, thus any DC (whether DC2 or DC4) is still superior to a DA chassis. It has little to do with the bars found on the Type R.

When comparing an LS DC and an LS DA the DC didn't get any special treatment. Ok, it's the 3rd generation integra so obviously there will be some improvements over the previous chassis. But to say it's FAR superior is being a bit overzealous.
When the cages go in, those little chassis differences even out and it becomes a game of grip.
How about that neat little design feature they call the front crossmember on the DA? DC2 chassis doesn't have this, it's a key point for grip under serious braking, it takes care of torque steer on corner exit aswell.
morning all, went to an integra meet yesterday, 20 degree weather wasn't fun. It was fun driving my car, but the temp gauge went up to very hot, and I don't know why. I was just sitting at the gas station with the car running, don't know why it got hot. I turned the car off, turned it back on and drove the temps went back to normal, what could that be? I know in the summertime it does it as well, but it is like 20 degrees, didn't think it could do it then......

I woulda been down, been driving the DA while I fix the CL(on that not I ordered a new dizzy, cap, rotor and plug wires). Hopefully that'll fix it!
As for your overheating if the car overheated while sitting you may want to check your fan. Is it on, is it blowing the right way?
Since it's been more then once its def not an air bubble.
I battled this problem last year and it ended up being a small leak in my head gasket. Pull your rad cap off and start the car, if it sprays coolant out of the rad neck your hg is blown. If not I'd say flush the cooling system, change your thermostat and bleed the system correctly.
I'm game to help, just lemmie know!

Trust me, I know the differences between the DC2 and the DC2-R chassis.

BAHAHAHA! One of my friends told me he saw a picture of me on Alphanumeric's blog site.
I was on my way to the Super Lap Battle finals at Buttonwillow Raceway in November. I decided to rock my old school A# sweatshirt from back in 2000 with the B16A cutout on it. Me and my homies stopped at Carl's Jr in Gorman for some shitty food. Turns out some dudes from A# were there too (they sponsored the event) and were jocking my sweatshirt. One dude asked to take a pic of it, then came back an gave me one of the A# Super Lap Battle shirts for free.
