Do you regret selling yours?

 

ahh fun times at the track last night.
It was a good night for mild HP cars last night because the temperature, although it was too chilly for the high hp cars, there was a celica with a 2JZ and HUGE turbo that wouldn't catch traction for days!

Anyway, fun story I feel like sharing about dumb people. I was there with a few friends, one of my buddies (Ben) has a high HP S4 that is fairly fast. He's pretty well known with most ppl so some random kid decides to start talking smack Ben about how his friends WRX will wax his car, bla bla bla.

Turns out Ben knows said WRX and it's quick but would be an easy win for Ben. Ben goes to get his car, meanwhile the said WRX is no where to be found, apparently this kid just knew him but he wasnt his friend.

This kid then proceeds to tell me that this WRX ran an 11.60 pass with no launch and shifting at 5k RPM. I HADDDDDD to call him out on the impossibility of such claims as that car would be like a 9.80 car, which isnt likely at all. I break down the physics of such a claim and in short said its either the fastest WRX in the world of somehow weighs 500lbs, which one is it? He then proceeds to get all puffy, starts kicking **** around, we exchange words and like a smart man he walks away.

Yea I know, I cant wait! I think we are going to get our normal hotel at Days Inn right over the bridge. Closest, nicest hotel to Capitol.

 

Matt i was running the same battle last month. i was debating on parting out my whole car.

someone came to look at the shell and a part of my could not do it. I flaked on the guy and continue to finish what i started. Yes, my goal is much harder to make them most people but i will not fail doing it.

i bought a mustang to take a break from the honda world for the rest of this year so i am just buying parts every week for my teg so when the time is ready to work on it, i can stay busy on it.

 

oh ok. never been there. but im sure it cant be worse than mason dixon. its pretty bad too.
i'm not sure if im coming down both days yet or not now that i know my integra will be ready at all to run. may just come down for sunday like i normally do. either way, it'll be good times and i cant wait!

i've been wondering where you've been kyle! i was just wondering the other day how you car was coming along. guess that explains it. lol. but sad to say, i think i'm falling into the same slump everyone else is right now and debating selling the da and building something different. but i've owned it for 5 years so that makes it all the harder to get rid of it. i really want to get a newer 4 door integra or an ek hatch and do j-swap in it!

ya its been a while since ive logged on HT.

it was a nice 4 month break from hondas. now its go time again. the car still looks the same but its hiding in a storage unit in the middle of no where. lol my room is just filled with more parts. its fun.



thats the new toy and i must say, its funny how i only have like 1500 into it and its faster then my built turbo setup in my DA last year. lol

 

How can I interest you guys into circuit and autox style of building the car instead of this drag stuff

LoL wouldn't it be the same answer if I asked you how I could get you into drag racing, its just what you like.....
To me a high hp car is more fun to drive around because there are more straights then crazy turns. My cars suspension is decent enough that I can still rock 80mph around on ramps and such. So for me its good!

the one thing you have to think about is at least we are all enjoying building our cars no matter what they are for.

nice looking fox body by the way kyle. i've got one sitting somewhere too lol. i still have yet to bring it home from when i got off of my friend earlier this year. but its another project and i just dont have the room for that yet. hopefully i can get it home before winter hits.

Hey there are turns in drag racing! Anyone who can manage driving around the pits on some slicks with around 8psi in them is a champ in my book!

i prefer a well rounded ride, can throw down on the drag strip, or whoop some *** in a time attack. only dragging gets boring after a while. but around here there is little to no tracks open for TT but tons of strips

 

That sucks, here a drag strip was just bulldozed away but there's 6 circuits from Northern to Southern California.

 

i'm the same way. im huge fan of rounded cars.

 

there is a famous circuit track about an hour away, Gingerman Raceway. but its still not close enough for me ot wanna go, gas + entrance would be a $100 trip

 

$100 for gas and entrance that's it? Geez that's a deal I'd be there every weekend. I spent $500 my first track day and that was only for 1 day out of the 2 day weekend. $150 for entrance fee, $20 gas, $30 oil change, $200 tires, $40 brake pads and other miscellanous things. Most of it was for prep so I don't know if it counts but my 2nd time at Buttonwillow was a lot cheaper. First event was at Willow Springs, an hour away. An hour is nothing if you can make a weekend out of it.

Well chances are I will have some news pics soon because I feel a buying parts episode coming on. Trying to pick up this manifold as we speak, hopefully he takes my offer.
