i parted my turbo together for about 1800 but thats without any pipings for clamps or anything like that though. or you can get a good quality one for about 2500 from go-autoworks

If you just want a daily, I'd say getting an eBay kit isn't that bad. Now, if you start running it hard, mid install it, or it's got anything wrong with it, you can say bye bye to your motor.

You think a ebay kit would suffice for just like 150whp ish, and maybe down the line replacing some parts from it, like turbine and manifold?

honestly ebay has gotten alot better with thier stuff. the turbo that is on my car is a ebay turbo and its been on there for 4 years, and still works great no leaks, no shaft play. the ebay manifold cracked so i got a full-race manifold. the intercooler piping tht comes with the kit doesnt fit right so youl have to get different piping, but some of the kits on there now have good piping. the only real problem is the downpipe, it almost never fits. you either have to do extra bending/extending or just have one made. the wastegates and bov's tht come with the kits work just fine, mine are still from the original ebay kit i got 4 years ago and they still function properly. my kit started out as a ebay kit and all i changed was the manifold, intercooler (got a full-race intercooler in a trade, ebay one worked fine) and the intercooler piping (got new piping from ebay, its just not the original set) downpipe (because of course it didnt fit right, so i made one)

with my kit i made 376whp and 285 wtq with a stock engine, its all in the tuning. that lasted about 11 months then my fuel system crapped out on me and of course the engine followed shortly after.

some proof before it turns into a big debate. it was tuned by Tony Palo himself at T1 Racing in Arlington Texas. and he actually liked my setup enough, he gave me a discount on the tuning services.

if i want to push more power safely should i just invest in new rods and pistons? i read on d-series.org that the stock head can usually handle up to 350ish hp?

There is people making over 400 on a bone stock head.....that's not to say with head work it would make more power.....just random out my *** numbers you may be able to make the same power on 7lbs less boost with headwork.....if your shooting for low 300s I wouldn't worry about it

yes you can make good power on a stock head, my head is still completely stock, but i have srp pistons and eagle h-beams with king bearings.

is your check engine light on?? if not, check your coolant level. it in fact may be the throttle body but every time i see a honda with a idle surge the first things i check is cel and coolant level. if the cel is on then check your IAC Valve, it may need to be cleaned or replaced.

WOOT WOOT.... i love my 272-2 you'll be really happy with it...slight loppy idle but not to bad....hold power to the upper r's...and well it wont break in half like bisi's piece of crap products

got a little done...tried my hand out at porting, i think it came out better than expected....had to match my 70mm throttle body to thew 65mm opening on the edlebrock

And a little comparison between the z6 and perf. X intake manifolds
