when u even start seeing boost with that thing and get full boost? mines just a bullseye s256 and yet i dont even see a lb of boost untill 3k rpm and full boost at 5300 which is 18 lbs
it spools decent.....i've had both kinds of set-ups
i've had a gt-17 (14psi) on a stock d15b7(rebuilt oem w/ a6 cam n springs ret. 2*) insta spool in just about any gear would rip the tires off at any rpm....awsome daily driver quick set-up....stomped plenty of n/a b-series and other cars aswell .....ran a 13.9@ like 90mph fouling out 2 or 3 of my plugs before the 1000' marker, easily a mid-low 13 pass
did a t28 (31lbs/min @12psi) on a jdm d15b w/ notec head listed above...fully spooled by mid second gear held to redline awsome....spun a bearing in the motore on the way home from the tuner
this set-up is pretty laggy, it was really laggy for 90% of the summer till i got my exhaust done only then did i find my wastegate leaking real bad.....forgot the fire ring....without the fire ring i was hitting 22psi as i crossed the 1320 at the top of third...you need to drop it in the right gear, with the old set-ups it didnt matter, those things spooled so quick i could drop to fourth at 70mph on the highway and see full boost almost instantly......now i gotta drop it in third or fourth is gutless till boost finnally comes in....
its not all that bad, if i really get on it from a dig i get some boost in first, not enough to roast any tires to badly(this is a good thing)....second gear will hold on to some boost and you hear it like a jet engine just got turned on, as it gets louder the more you get sucked into the seat, i will hit high teens in second and tires start spinning at upper rpms.... full boost shortly into third, really depends on the shift i need better tires at this point.....it takes alot more driver skills to make it go fast, if i mis a gear and quik get it into gear there is no makeing up you dropped 15psi and its game over
i should also mention since my powerband is 5.5k and up i have a 8500rpm limiter that im constantly bangging
.... when i go forged i will spin it higher but for now i dont trust the vitaras spinning any faster
alot of people worry to much about lag....its not as bad is people make it out to be. i was relly worried it would be supper laggy and not as fun.....but think about your shift, at 8500 limiter when i shift it drops to like 5-5.5k or something like that.....as in it drops right into my powerband....i have noticed and some may be to driver mods needed, alot of the guys around here (<300whp) will jump on me in first by a 1/2 car...pull another car or two in second...as i shift into third im already reelling them in, top of third im long gone all they see is tailights

heres a ripper BEFORE i fixed the fire ring....i had a rev limiter problem couldnt go over 7900, 2nd and 3/4 of the way through third....i was in a 55 so i didnt dare go any faster was just trying to fix my limiter

its koo i rev up to 8400 rpm when i hit my full boost in 2nd gear it just breaks the tires loose and spin a little but 3rd i hook up. now i just got my new suspension hopefully itll help jsut got a funciton and forum type 1. and i got some tires just waiting for spring time to put them on their kumho ecsta v10.
I want to join, no pc so I cant post,pics yet phone wont let me. But ive got white 91 ef civic hatch with 5 spd and a d15b2, only mod so far is an air intake with k&n filter and cd player and speakers. I live in olympia washington.
Not very, vtec or non......personally I prefur non...but for n/a vtec will give you better gains....
Buy a Hayes manual from autozone.....look up how to change a h/g same thing for minime but for vtec you need a couple wires, different ecu and a diff distributor as well

each would demand a different turbo to stay competative, for example my hx35 is nice for the strip and highway pulls, it would not even beguin to spool on a auto-x track, my old gt-17 would have been great for auto-x as it insta spooled and gave me power instanly, for road racing you want something in the middle, too small you risk overheating and running very high temps, too big and your not going to be spending much time in your peak powerband
