My paint is in pretty good shape:

Too bad the car is rusting out at a couple corners.

Man, I hear that 100%. I'm waiting for a nice couple days of chinook (strange phenomenon where warm air blows in from the mountains) to do some work to my car.

I can't agree with winter sucking entirely though, as I like to ski and get out to shoot some pucks every once in a while.

ive been trying to figure out what color i want to paint my car for a long time now, and every time i think ive narrowed it down i just cant seem to deceide. The colors ive narrowed it down to are listed below let me know which ones you guys like

Chianti red metallic

cayanne red pearl

durango copper pearl

imola orange

Im leaning more towards the imola orange or the durango copper pearl, simply because i am trying to be a bit different this year with my car, im being really picky with the color because i dont really want to redo it, and since i have most my engine bay pulled apart already because of the wire tuck, i figured i might as well do a paint change on it as well. Let me know what you guys think, i dont see any of these colors around in my town, the hatch and eclipse are 2 of my old cars as well, thats the main reason i have those up there, under the light they showed orange as well lol, i guess im destined for orange haha. let me know what you guys think, it will be going on my coupe which looks like this

If anybody has some mad photoshop skills put the above colors onto my pic it would be awesome. I am going to paint the side moldings but leave the lip, sideskirts, and the little black area on the back bumper black. Help a brother out!

see i like it white too, and i dont know for sure if i have the energy to go thru and do the jams and all that, im kinda lazy haha, but the car definately needs a new coat of paint on it, the paint thats on it is starting to get really thin and harder to get shined up, even after the paint protection, buffing and waxing and clay baring ive done on it.

have you tried an aggressive cutting compound rather than just polish?

yup i have, i clayd it, heavy cut, polish, wax, paint sealer/protectant, the paint itself shines like a mother ****er and has a deep rich color, but its really soft and scratches very very easy, seems like the car was repainted once before with just a single stage paint which i really dont like, doesnt have the depth that i would like at all.

and when i wash it i use the 2 bucket method, along with microfiber cloths to wipe down, and i also use a chamois thats dedicated to only this car.

the above pic was taken after the car was sitting in the garage for like a week, so it had some dust on it and such, wasnt very clean at all had a really great shine on it, now after sitting in the garage for almost 3 months its dirty as **** and has alot of scratchs in it.

definitely sounds like single stage paint to me too.

I detailed for many years, and white should be an easy colour to maintain.

yeah i have had many many white cars and this one has been the hardest to upkeep, i brought the paint back from the dead, it had been sitting in a backyard for 2 years and never washed. here is a pic of what it looked like a couple days after i got it home

little bit better pic, notice the paint difference from the fender to the door? thats how dirty the paint was

I dont know how to replace the rubber seals..... yet, im still waiting on delivery of my sol to get here, starting to get impatient to lol. But the best advice that i can give you is just go slow, maybe pick up a haynes manual and look in the body work section. but just take your time and dont rush it at all.
