my buddy is preasuring me to get rid of my gay intake mani, called it a mini me, have u guys heared of this? is it a conversion to vtec?

Oh ok, you got a vtec-e motor? Yea you can switch up your intake manifold and throttle body but I dont know much about it, im pretty sure if you search you can find a how to on it

i have 4 kids, so i rock my explorer most of the time, i am damn picky about my car, no its not showroom or anything like that but its my baby and i want to keep her as clean as i can. I put the car away for the winter on oct 1st and im glad i did, just keeps the car nice looking and barely any rust

so im guessing since you have a ek its a d16y7 motor, you can just swap out the intake manifold to a y8 one and be ok, not much of a power difference, but gives you the cool sucking sound haha. If you want to do a mini me thats taking a vtec head slapping it on your y7 block is all it is.

today i just found out the d15b7 i have was fully rebuilt to oem specs, cylinder head and pistons were changed out, new valves, cylinder walls were rehoned.....head is a d15b jdm head possibly.

also removed the valve cover and have it at home for a quick makeover.

 

thinking about boosting my car soon =P

 

why are you running the obd1 fuel rail on your engine? still runs good?

 

How the hell do you just get bored and think "im gonna do a wire tuck"? When i get bored i paint stuff lol. You can get bored and do a wire tuck on my car lol.

 

so ive acquired a few engines over the past few weeks and im debating on doing something creative with them. I got a dohc zc with a blown head gasket, a d15b2 with an unknown problem, a d16y8 with an bad block and good head, and a d16y7 that I am rocking in my car right now. I was thinkin about doin a y8 headswap onto my y7 and throw my dohc zc pistons in there. Ill probably just boost the d15b2. anybody got any suggestions of what i should do with these engines?

 

If youre gonna use that y8 I would get the head checked because that thing knocked so bad and who knows if the valves didn't get clipped

 

im gonna replace the valves, valve springs, port and polish. of course im gonna get it checked. Im not a fool! lol
