thats crazy, i had a 91 hatch and i used synth brake lines and it was a nightmare! i had to replace 1 line completely, and then had to bleed all 4 brakes to get rid of ALL the fluid.

the royal purple (same car) made me have leaks like crazy too.

OR if the motor has very low miles then its ok to start using synthetic. but once you do that, you can shouldnt ever use regular motor oil again. personally i've had bad experiences with full synthetic fluids. synth brake fluid made my brake lines leak at ALL 4 brakes. the royal purple synth oil caused my oil pan to leak pretty badly.
See thats what I read about

ya ive never had a single problem with my car, i mean its a 95 midwestern car but its not real rusty or anything. But ya the only leaks that ive had have been from a worn out drain plug seal on the oil pan, and my clutch master and slave cylinders started leaking, but i didnt put synthetic in those, they were just garbage lol.

Other than that, i even put mobil 1 into my wifes old car that had 130k on it and it was bone stock and didnt leak a drop, that was a 97 ek sedan.

i dunno i guess some motors respond to the synth stuff better than others!

by the way, where is it said that JDM engines use nothing but synthetic? they arent really about emissions over there so why would they care about cleaning burning oil?

oh hey im about to get a new exhaust, this is my christmas present from the woman haha.

but ya i dont know what muffler to go with, all the piping is pretty similar but im stuck on muffler/resonator. im gonna TRY to go to a shop where the dude isnt some emissions freak and will give me some straight piping! $200+ dollars for a cat is pretty stupid IMO.

i want a deep tone, NOTHING raspy or anything like that so ya i dont know what to do.

My test pipe had an extra hole for a o2 sensor and the bolt that plugs it fell out and now this farting sound and I can't find a bolt that is big enough to fit the hole. I'm pissed. haha

just find a 02 sensor to plug into it or a oil drain plug, should be relativly close.

as far as a muffler, i love my apexi ws2, my magnaflow was really good to, but the greddy i got rid of sounded deep as well.

there is an ebay store based in michigan that is an authorized magnaflow dealer. they are selling the Turbo XL 2.5" in/out for like $60. thats like $30 cheaper than everywhere else, with free shipping also.

i've heard good things about this one and im probably gonna get it. any idea on resonators?

i run a 18in long one with my ws2, sounds pretty close to stock until i hit WOT. you can just get a cherry bomb one and be good to go, just paint it black or silver for the sleeper look too.

well i know cali law pretty well i tried to get around it hahaha but failed horribly, do the dc header or carb exempt header, then do a high flow cat (ebay works for this) then do a 12 in long resonator to the muffler and be done, or if you want to get more stealthy turn the muffler sideways and run the piping like stock out the bumper.

ef's cant run 4/1 headers, well we can but i'de have to remove the cross member in order to get it mounted. or i'de have to "notch" the cross member which i wont do, notching pretty much means "cutting a 2 inch deep slot into the cross member".

as for the cali law thing, i can care less got the hook up at a smog place. i wouldnt buy an ebay cat cuz they're internals would probably become damaged and start rattling after a little while.

the trick is to try and find a "good" shop that will fab/weld up a straight piping setup.

and yes, i want the side mounted exhaust. (stock for ef's)

that one doesnt show a carb exempt number though is the only thing for him, he has to make sure he has those present on his car or he could get in trouble and sent to the ref.

ok editing this cuz you posted before me lol, what you can do is if you find an exhaust shop like that, take your stock cat, cut it in half and then just wrap it around your straight pipe so the cops will think you at least still have one if you do ever get pulled over.
