~DA SQUAD Version 2.0~
so i went to the track yesterday, my first time up i snapped on axle ON STREET TIRES?????? but went to shucks bout another axle swapped the axles, and got back on the line i ran 13.9 with a rider on street tires rolling off the line cuz i was scared to break anything again. and then had a great day at the track my best time ended up being 13.8 at 109 and i dont think thats too bad for not making any attempt at launching and on streettires. ill be out again on wednesday tho and maybe ill grow some ***** and use my slicks again.

Sorry i spaced that **** because of working on my car all weekend until 3 each morning. My car is still sitting in the garage
Two weeks so far
I think i have to return the caliper i just bought. I got most of my interior done though
I'm gonna try to fix it by wed to make it to the sonic meet that night.

well, the Rings finally let go friday night on the LS, I've been watching the oil consumption, it burned 4qts in 3 weeks, thought it might have just been the tune, it was running rich and washing down the cyl. Nope, 3 and 4 took a ****, smokes like a ****, no compression. I' going to rebuild, All motor LS, so far I have 81.5 P30's, just to start.
italion : I burn a little more as well.. b20z gets picked up tomorrow morning though...
I have a quick Q for you guys though, this is what I plan on running when I swap the b18a out..
b20z, b18a intake manifold, aem short ram/cone filter, 4-2-1 exhaust, 2 3/8s straight back no cat.. Just to be a noob and ask.. what do you think I'll put down? 64,000 km's on the engine.. I was considering getting a blox intake manifold as well - I don't want to open the engine up but I'm interested in getting as much NA power as I can with just bolt ons...
Also, anyone have any experience with VDO gauges? Neuspeed sells 'em.. I just want to run water temp and oil pressure .. not too sure about brands for gauges as I've never had a reason to buy them before...

That sounds like a sweet set up...if you get a bigger intake manifold/throttle body and header...why not go to 2.5" exhaust? Your kind of cheating yourself if you go smaller...also, i highly suggest a Skunk2 manifold...i have at least seen those...Blox i hear is getting better...good luck!
get some bigger cams you wont make much power w/o opening up the motor.
If you are getting it used throw a new timing belt on along with a water pump.
throw in the cams and adjust that lash so its fresh
b18b manifold>b18a
4-1, 2.5">4-2-1, 2 3/8"
cold air intake > short ram
why are u pulling the b18a? just build the b20 and rock the 1.8L till shes done. itll ensure reliability if done right and yield more powerssss.

b20z manifold > b18a ? I don't have a b18b manifold kicking around I can use, though I might have access to one ..
I gave away my AEM CAI and kept my SRI in place, personally I'm cool with an SRI and CAI's have always made me worry about waterlogging my engine.. I like going through large *** puddles randomly - and take my car to awkward places where waterlogging could easily happen..
And I'm pulling the b18a cus it burns 5L of oil a month. That's keeping it under 3k rpm..
I'll check out the price of timing belts and water pumps - is there anyway to check the condition of the water pump without starting the engine up ? Or should I consider just using my stock b18a pump ..
And cams may be in the future.. or a head swap.. I just need a new motor quickly as I feel bad smoke screening people all the time.. Unless I'm being an awesome street racer, then it's a sweet tactic.
