Hey G2 Racer that picture makes me very sad. My buddy backed into mine right before I destroyed the motor again. Mine is just sitting again waiting for me to get some money. This has not been my year guys, don't know if its me or my precious DB2 that is cursed. Thinking its me though.

Try going through three motors since early february, getting dumped by the person you were in love with and shared an apartment with. Then moving out to your mom's only to have her move 1 and 1/2 hours away. You guys got any words of advice, I could use some. Tempted to dump my DB2.

^^^^ I have some advice, FORGET THAT HO! Not being mean or anything, but she isnt doing anything but holding you back. What was the reason she left? Were you living with her? Man you need to live at your mom's until you can scoop up a nice pad and you and your hommies can party everday, Man I miss those days........ So what happened to your motor 3 times to blow them? Are you building them? Well im done rambling on, like I said, forget her, there are more fish in the sea, just save some money and do your own thing.

Man, I am a boost junkie now, ever since I went boosted I don't want anything else! Don't get me wrong, when I had my semi-built ls-vtec it was fun as ****! but nothing beats the feeling of vtec on boost!

Your light mod list will be lucky to net you 140 whp in an LS. You need to rethink your mods, just because your putting $2500 worth of parts into your car doesn't automatically mean it will make power.
Most of us have been there and are only telling you because we KNOW.......
and S300 is more then $450!

You can easily find a GSR on here within that range and still have some funds to mod that.

yeah i was gonna say the same thing last night when i saw that but i figured i'd let you take that one since you've been through the all motor builds before matt. im too partial to boost so all motor guys dont tend to listen to me just cuz i havent done an all motor build.

i just think for the list you gave, 2500 seems like a lot of money for that set up and you didnt even do a p&p job which is where you're going to net most of your power from an all motor ls. i was told before from a very knowledgeable guy that a fully built ls head will only flow as good as a stock vtec head.

i still say for all motor your best bet is ls/v. im working on building one right now i and i have practically no money in it. but i also already had a head. but still, you can grab a gsr head for what, 600 at the most? then you can build your own ls/v kit and have the whole thing together for under or right around a grand (if anyone doubts me, ask me how much i have in my parts).

im not tryin to knock your idea of an ls build by any means, im just sayin for the amount of power you're trying to get with the amount of money you're trying to spend, you'd be a lot further ahead with an ls/v setup

i already have the s300 and i paid 450 of course that being my own discount/hookup and i know someone with pretty much the same build only real diffrence was he had 12.3:1 cr or somewhere around that number im going for 11.5:1 but he actually put down 186 whp with 133lbft of tq he is who told me about the setup im trying to run now im not trying to get that high of a hp number like i said 170 is more then enough if i get in the 160 range just as good 140 im pretty confident i can get more then that but hey we will see and the gsr motors i have seen on here are all atleast a grand and thats with out a tranny then i have to get a tranny the motors are probably ragged all to hell so i would have to rebuild that and for a grand im probably not gonna get a ecu so then i have to find a ecu and so on and so on i already mapped out that route cost will be more then my 2500 limit give or take a few bucks and the 2500 isnt including the port and polish and balance and all the other machine work nor is it including the tuning thats just parts

ls/v is still a option for me i still have a lil more homework to do on that being that my brother spent 3200 in his ls/v build but he rebuild the motor from bottom up which is what i would do if go ls/v reliability is number one in my book so ls/v is still a option all though for 3200 he netted 180 whp not all that impressive if u ask me

3200 for an ls/v? how? im doing a complete rebuild to my bottom end as well and im still not even at 1000 bucks yet. i guess if you have to pay a shop to do it thats where a lot of the cost would be. but i built my own kit instead of buying a kit from golden eagle for a loooot cheaper. bought arp rod bolts, dowl pins, and a oil feed line, head gasket, the 1/8npt plug for the head, piston rings, and all bearings. just have to buy a few gaskets yet but still very well below 1500 at the most

Yea man im not a big fan of the ls-v anymore. I had mine, built bottom end only put down 175, it was fun, until the bitch threw a rod through the block in 3 months. It was fun while it lasted. I think you will get bored with the power, used to it and then you will want more!

That's a bad reason. You won't learn unless you try! Prior to this car, I had little electrical know-how and my car has given me a place to practice and learn. Combined with what I've learned in school, I've picked up a lot.

My friend did a little shoot with my car yesterday so I'll try to throw some of the pictures up and hopefully get back into the squad. I got some amber corners for the car and I'm still iffy about them. I think that I'm going to need to get some amber turn signals too or something because it looks sort of funny to me.

LoL all these wrong preconceived notions about the LS Vtec going on in here.

1. Just because your friend made XXXhp does NOT mean you will too. I would very much like to see some specs on that motor and a dyno sheet etc because that is very impressive.

2. You can easily find a head and a trans on HT for $400 each.

3. Pushing the power limits of an LS like that will not be THAT reliable for DD use and still will only make as much HP as a very lightly modded GSR.........

4. LS Vtecs do not ALWAYS leak oil! All depends on the skill of the person building the motor. Depending on the parts used you can easily make over 200 hp! They last as long as the tune and the driver takes care of them. My Ls vtec made over 200 wheel and has been running for about 4 years...............

Take it for what its worth.................

right, but i was considering the price of buying a head as well. though i dont have to buy a head, i could still easily do it for under 1500. its all about shopping around for the right deals.

matt, dont forget to add how much a difference using arp rod bolts makes in reliability and longevity of an ls/v as well.

gonna pm you in a few...

let me ask you this...are you doing the actually rebuilding/building yourself or do you have to pay someone to do it? that is the biggest factor to get out of the way first...from there, we can help you out a lil more on pricing. also, i'd use a gsr head instead of the b16 since you want all motor. gsr head gives you slightly more compresion

eh, i've never had bad luck with ebay for the most part.
also, you're right that da's dont use pillow ball mounts. this is to convert to them.
