ok so i plan on doing a na ls setup but i wanna use oem b16 pistons do they have to be modified to go on my oem ls rods and will i have to worry about clearence issues

 

Only thing you have to worry about is putting money into a motor that will be slow. LoL jk jk

So for those of you that have build motors etc, how do you feel about reusing head studs that have only been tq'd down twice???

Finished part my DA today, I miss her already.

My Talon was backed into today, just a scuff on the bumper but ****!!!!! I'm not living my area for a couple of weeks now.

 

Hit up a big local meet today. Saw a rhd Efini RX7, rhd CTR, and a whole lot of high hp boosted Hondas. The rx7 and ctr were the real thing too, the guys both had import documents in their front windows!

 

yeah, you have to have the rods machined to fit the pistons. if you watch in the classifieds or ebay you can sometimes find some that are already done for less then it'd cost you to get it done. i just saw a set sell on ebay the other day for like 102.

cuz he's just lookin for a mild daily driver with more pep than stock. and honestly, for a daily driver, a mildly built ls is fun. plus still good mileage and still cheaper then buying a swap.

good deal on the awd turbo anthony. just watch out for that ever too popular crank walk though!

and WTF is up with everyones cars getting hit/wrecked/totaled lately?! seriously! im glad neither of my cars are on the road right now after seeing everyones luck lately! especially you anthony. you JUST got this car cuz your da got totaled and you got hit already!

 

G2 my buddy has a slew of parts for sale as well as his stock 6 bolt motor if you are interested.

 

well the reason is im only looking for about 170-180 whp and i can get that plus the tq buy just building my ls motor and for cheaper then doing a swap around 2500 for the build versus spending 2500 for a b16 which i will only get 145 whp sounds like a no brainer to me lol

 

I would be but I'm just worried about paying off all my debt for now.

^i agree. i'd spend the 2500 on a little turbo kit, and put 250 down. just my .02 though.

 

Here's an update on my car. new lug nuts painted my CF hood black. too bad i didnt have enough money to fix the clear coat spray paintw as onsale for 1 buck per can so what can i say haha. also new hood pins. my first time using photoshop!

 

x2! except, if you know what you're doing you can build a decent mild turbo setup to make 250hp for a lot less than 2500

 

noo turbo for me if it was just a weekend car sure why not but this is my everyday car and 2500 bucks in na parts geez i almost ran out of parts to get before i calculated up to 2500 most expensive part was the crower 404 cams and i can get them for less then 300 bucks oh no wait a sec the hondata s300 was 450 sorry and im pretty sure i can get 170whp out of my ls for that price

 

nothing wrong with a turbo car for daily man. as long as you're motor is healthy to start with. run low boost and tune it the right way and use good parts and you're good to go.

as for your 170 on an ls na...im not sayin you cant, but im not sayin its as easy as you're saying either. are you planning on head work other than cams? thats where you're gonna get most of your power from.

either way you, just make sure you really do your research and see what works and what doesnt work. i think a mildly built ls na would make a fun daily. i know i used to be happy with my da with just a b1 swap, skunk2 intake mani, and crower stage 1 cams. but im a boost junkie and like a crack head needs crack, i need boost!!! lol
