** The offical 96-00 civic 4dr thread ** PART 2
![Default](https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/icons/icon1.gif)
Hi guys! I've been lurking around the 4 door thread for quite some time now and I hate to ask but I need a favor. I've been having this weird sound coming out of my engine bay where the belts are. I had it checked and at first I though it was the idler bearing. After replacing that, the sound was still there so I had my compressor bearing checked out. The mechanic said it was still good so now he says it must be the pulley bearing. BTW the sound is there even when the AC is off or on also even when I press the gas pedal. And no its not coming from the fan belt. All the belts are relatively new and even when you splash some water on them, the sound is still there so I guess a bad belt is not it. Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

those pedals look great glenn, how do they attach?
tontonpacute, would you say you think its coming from the serpentine belts? or from the timing belt? you can completely remove both serpentine belts then run the car for a few seconds. if the sound is still there it'll be either your timing belt tensioner, timing belt, or water pump.

Need a favor from fellow sedan owner. I need someone to confirm the colors of the wires on the primary O2 sensor. I need to know the colors on the harness side of the plug, not the sensor side of the plug. In addition, if you could confirm the colors of the secondary 02 that would be great as well. Thanks in advance.

with a HO2 sensor you will have 4 wires. two are for the heating circuit, and two are for the oxygen sensing part. black goes to black (heater), the polarity doesn't matter. then match up white from the harness with white on the sensor and green from the harness to green on the sensor. hard to mess up, good luck. if your testing, probe the green one.

NO. I'm saying the Primary and Secondary 02 sensor plugs on the harness are identical! I'm thinking when we had my motor out, that MAYBE my friend plugged the wrong on into the wrong plug. You see what I'm saying. Im stepping away from my computer for a bit. Text me your thoughts Mike.
