hmm..I saw that FLP shifter before....would it be uncomfortable in a daily? I'm often just resting my hand on my current (eBay) short shifter...just not something you see in sports cars...

if you find a gsr shifter somewhere for cheap try it out, you just have to cut off a bit and use the bushing from your stock shifter. its got a little bit shorter throw than the civic shifter, comfy.

Mike, let me show you some close up picture of how that little tab does.
There are 2 extra tabs in 99-00 version in which one prevent the bumper to go in, and the other one is mounted on the fender. Here you will see the fender bracket is different in angle as well so it will actually pull the fender much wider:
![](http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a175/slng05/Gallery/stifferner3.jpg)
Here's how the little tab comes out when you install it, so its job is to position the bumper:
![](http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a175/slng05/Gallery/stifferner2.jpg)
So your bumper will line up with the fender perfectly as seen on my ride, even if I push the bumper it won't goes in.
![](http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a175/slng05/Gallery/stifferner1.jpg)
If you don't have those fender barckets and you will most likely end up with a poor fitment between bumper and fender like this car:

Thats something i didn't know. Well when i did my 99-00 conversion on my 4dr i didn't change those brackets and everything lined up perfect. I'm guessing its not a important thing to change.

Just getting it repainted. The body was pretty much perfect because I had the car painted last year before she got stolen. I forgot to take pics of how it was last week. The thing is that they stole the whole front end last year so I had to buy Sir bumper and jdm fenders again. So imagine this... my front sir bumper was DAP, Hood was black, fenders were red, the rear sir bumper was silver and the rest of the car was white, lol. I rode like that for 1 week till I left it at the body shop this past week.
yo Port you have a amber clock in your car? If not, what do you think about them?

ok i have made my decision on the motor and it will be going in my 96 civic 4dr
http://hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc2000...age&item=30004
what else would i need to buy to make this swap go as smooth as it can.
the swap will be done by me and a 3 other friends and i have the least experience out of all of them so this will be a great learning experience for me.

As for short shifter question - I have the B&M one, it's like $150 and one of the best short shifters you can buy and I LOVE it. Shifts are SO nice and short and easy to click into.

You just need the rear t bracket from a 99-00 si coupe, a post mount bracket from a 99-00 si coupe, and a a/c compressor torque mount bracket from a crv if you plan to use your stock a/c system or a si coupe bracket and compressor paired with a/c lines from a 99-00 si coupe. Don't buy mounts, just buy those three brackets. You also need a obd2 ecu and emmissions equipment from the same year or newer model of vehicle you are swapping from (must be newer then your car). There's more to it but those are the major things.

project update - problems persisted in the shipment of body panels, because of this the spray day has been pushed back again. in addition since the day as been pushed back, i had to buy more days at the shop. i had originally planned to only be there 5 days and payed for 5 days. i payed for more time (as much as i need now) and the paint day will most likely be Wednesday. this also gives the painter more time to work on the car and make things just right. ![Drink](https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emcocktl.gif)
