If you get Data Logit and a good A/F meter tuning is painless. Turning with the handheld unit is a royal pain in the ****. Base maps can be obtained from Apex USA.

very good piece.i love mine.if you are just getting the kit,you should be able to tune it with the commander no problem.when you start getting more radical, you cansimply send it in to xs to have another base map and fine tune it from there or you can get the datalogit program and do it yourself.

What does that mean? You are building the head, or the shortblock? Or both?

Hey Crew,

I am looking at getting the Apexi FC as well, but I am in between that and the VAFC. I should be getting the peak turbo kit this xmas and throwing it on my B16 by new years and have a shop in GA tune it. Would the Fc be a better buy for future improvements? And would I have to send the unit to XS to get a start off turbo base map?
TIA

the power fc is much better.you can have xs engineering put in a base map for $150.just send them in detailed specs on your mods and they will get it very close, then you fine une it with your commander or get the datalogit and have a good tuner do the whole thing, base map and all
