Default XS Power Kit

I have gotten the chance to buy a XS Power Kit WITHOUT THE TURBO, meaning I'll be purchasing a decent t3/t4 in the future. The kit is 300$, which is everything except for the turbo, including the manifold, wastegate, downpipe, knockoff bov, and the gaskets and such for a b-series. Is this a good deal? Also, does anyone have any experience with them (except for the turbo cracking in half...). Thanks.

EDIT: The kit is brand new, never opened...

Cross your fingers and hope that you get one of the "freak" manifolds that is the exception to the rule and doesnt crack and fall apart on you.

Or, you could buy the kit, then sell the manifold for about $75 and put that towards a solid log manifold.

I think its a good deal. To me....the worst part that xs (aka ssac) produces is the turbo. The mani should be fine unless you're planning on pushing 15+ lbs of boost through it.

Sweet. Thanks for the great info guys. I'm going to be running 7-8 lb's. Any more input would be greatly appreciated.

uhh boost pressure has absolutely nothing to do with the manifold breaking... I wouldnt do it, they are shitty parts always will be dont buy it...

Btw, everyone has been talking about the older style manifold and how it is prone to cracking, but has anyone tested the newer one? Btw, this might sound like a stupid question, but is a b-series manifold more expensive than a d-series? If it is, is it like 50% more, 25%, etc? Thanks.

Btw, is it possible to run a t25 with this mani? I know that they are supposed to be used with a t3, t4, or the hybrid, but is there a modification that can be done to use a t25?

Well the more boost your running the hotter the exhaust gas temps will get.....this will cause the mani to crack since their mani is pretty thin.

Anyways i've heard all different kinds of manifolds that have cracked (ie. cast iron, tubular (name brand), and home made ones).

Use a flex pipe too.

having lots of problems with my xs power waste gate. if i had a built motor none of this stuff would even go near it. me and my friend bought there waste gate and each of them were supposed to come with there 10lb spring. one came with a 6lb and the other with a 1.1 bar spring. needless to say neither have opened under 11psi reliably. sometimes it opens and loses psi towards redline and other times does not even open.

Yah, I'm afraid that the wastegate might leak boost, but I'm planning on running 7-8 lb's, with the CORRECT spring (5.86 spring).

If the b-series manifold is more than a d-series, I'm going to try to hopefully trade someone (or sell the ss and buy a decent d series manfold).

Also, since this kit is pretty risky, I'm not going to be ordering the sc-61 that I origionally wanted. Is there a way to run a t25 with this mani?

just be careful...

i suggest you do what was said above. buying that kit, sell the manifold, and put a little extra in for a log. at least youll have peace of mind that the mani wont break.

or, i heard to help out the manifold, you can get braces welded on them to support the turbo.

good luck man

I think I'm going to go with the boosted d. Thanks for answering the questions, I'll be selling the manifold and most likely everything else, and just buy a used greddy kit or something.

I had one of their thinner old tubular style manifolds on my car for about 3 years... never cracked or anything.. it was how ever braced and re enforced... so... if you decide to buy this kit I would suggest to do the same... I actually bought another one of their newer thicker manifolds and plan to run with it re-enforced and braced of course...

Well, I actually ended up getting the stuff for 150$, which is with an evo 8 intercooler. I'm going to try selling the intercooler for around 125$, and then work from there. $25 for this stuff isn't that bad...

Btw, is it easy to sell an evo 8 intercooler for 125$?
