Just got my car tuned today (this was the second and last tuning session) and the car is running absolutley beatiful. And damn it pulls like a mother!. Anyway i was in about 3rd gear i guess, and i wacked it took it to 6k rpm, pulled very smooth, shifted into 4th and slammed the gas pedal hard and the car bucked once then pulled but when it bucked the CEL came on for a split second then went away.. it happened again under the same circumstances.. not sure what it is or what would cause that, would anyone know? maybe it ran too rich for a second? i dont think it detonated cuz there was no noise or anything. it just hesitated for a split secondl.

 

Well since you're running a X on a Y with Z particulars, I think your car needs new muffler bearings.

Uh, how about some details, and pull the code.

 

running stock map sensor ??

 

stock map sensor yes... 8 psi. There is no CEL any more , it only turned on for a SPLIT second AS the bucking happened

I don't think it had to do with the MAP sensor since you're set at 8psi, unless boost spiked passed 10-11psi. Even so, the CEL would have stayed on until you turned the key to the off position, then back on.

Sounds like DRT tuned the car...lol JK man I wouldn't worry about it too much, unless t happened consistently.

 

yea its holding boost fine.. no boost spike .. im almost positive it wasnt detonation.. wouldnt there be some kinda "nails being thrown at motor" type sound?

Long work week, and the commonly known fact that I'm a tard... that's all I can plead.

Just because the CEL isn't still on doesn't mean the code isn't saved in the ECU. Try to pull the code, see if you get something. It may help you down the road if this becomes a problem.

 

Could be KS, even without detonation.

i dont have a knock sensor ,
nor does the P28 ecu read for it i believe

 

Sounds like the Hondata fuel cut. Ask your tuner where he set it. Maybe you're boosting a lil higher than you think and hitting the max boost setting on the Hondata.

i dunno it just happened before again.. it only happens when im like really getting on it from 3rd to 4th gear.. as soon as i go into 4th .. hesitation and a cel comes up for that split second, then the car acellerates.

?Who read sig's anymore, i mean really. I'd say chechk that damn code and see what it flashes first. let us know what happens from there. otherwise like they said, find what ur tuner set it to.

I think to me is the boost cut just like the above said.

did a little searching on boost cut, sounds exactly like that was my problem, well at least i know wat it is now.. lol it scared the **** outta me for a moment!
