Re: Greddy Turbo Kit question (SiDESLiDE240)
Yeah i know. The motor is going to be built. Is it worth getting this kit or should i invest in a kit w/ a bigger turbo?

Re: Greddy Turbo Kit question (td04civic)
Did you ever consider using the $ for the turbo and maybe do a B18 swap??
Anything can be done, its a matter of how much $ you got

Will i make more power w/ a bigger turbo eg.t3/t4 at the same boost level or will it be the same w/ the td04h-15g?
Thanks.

your not going to be making much power difference between 12-15 psi on a tdo4.

Could the Greddy D series kit handle 15psi or should i be looking at another kit?
Thanks
Thanks
If your goals are 200whp or so and one a budget get the greddy kit and ic..

No...Personally, I think it would be better to swap it to a B-series so you get more base hp than a SOHC. And just put on a DRAG turbo kit and it should set you up at the top with the others...My point of view, not trashing on the singles, but what a SOHC can do, a DOHC can do better...and don't get a GReddy kit...DRAG or custom.

not all of us are made of money
and anyways. you could swap in a D16Z6 into ur car, invest in some pistons/rods blockguard standalone fuel management and at least a .48 comp .42 a/r t3 and with proper tuning youll be able to run over 15psi and be able to beat up on a stock B16, B18B, B18C turbo for way less $.

Re: Greddy Turbo Kit question (bretx0r)
i dont think building a d16z6 will cost lkess then a b18b swap......but anyways the greddy tdo4h-15g is only good to about 220 hp and thats way past its efficiency! you'll need a big t3 or a smaller t3/t4 if you want 250 hp.
good luck!

Does somone have a language problem here?
I think you're over reacting, pal. I wasn't talking sh*t about the SOHC, but he said he was going to build it up. Building up engines cost $$$ my friend. Plus, he wants 250 WHP. With a GReddy kit, I don't think so. Also, I said "personally" meaning MY OPINION and HOW I THINK. Everything that you said is a wise choice. But that costs money just like swapping it with a B-Series and Turboing it. Think about it for a min homie. Maybe two. I think it would be much more reliable to swap it out and turboing it rather than building up the single and boosting the sh*t out of it. What would you rather have?

Re: Greddy Turbo Kit question (SiDESLiDE240)
IMO the Greddy kit is not good past 15 psi (wastegate limitation) also you WILL have to build the bottom end. there is a SOHC guy in the 10's but thats another story.
Expect around 200-220 HP on a stock bottom end w/BIG INTERCOOLER and proper fuel management.
If you want more power than that, seriously consider saving up for a B series swap instead. Then turbo that (like me)
BTW my motor was a D16Z6

Re: Greddy Turbo Kit question (Turbo E)
I think you should go for a kit with a t3/t4 b turbo, they are best suited for 1.5-1.7 engines like yours.... of course the greddy kit IS a good kit, but your topping out the compressor efficiency at 250whp is my guess.... and the t3/t4b will kick your *** hard back into your seat when it hits :D

Re: Greddy Turbo Kit question (shadowdawn)
Thanks for all the replys. The only reason i'm not swapping to a b series is that i like the d16 motor.
If i build a custom turbo kit where would i find the oil sending lines and the little misc. stuff that comes w/ it?
