Default Will this work well as a internal WG block off??

I'm contemplating whether I should either weld the internal WG flapper door shut or just remove it all together and let the flange(as you can see in the pic) act as the block off?? I'm just wondering because could it create some turbulence, being as its sorta like an dead end for the exhaust to get caught up in?? I dunno...any input?

and for those of you not familiar, the internal WG hole would normally be to the right of my thumb.

Let the flange do the work

When I had my old Drag setup, the turbo used a 5 bolt exhaust housing and there was a hole for an external wastegate setup but it was covered up by the 5 bolt style downpipe flange

I agree, just use the flange.
