will this work?
ok.. i have an ej8 w/ d16y8. i am planning to build an engine for my first turbo setup due to the motor in my car has 140k miles, plus i want a better/stronger engine.
plans:
edelbrock turbo kit, vitara pistons, eagle rods, metal headgasket, p&p the head, stock cam, maybe 3 angles valve job.
after i build my engine, i will not put on the turbo kit right away due to money issue....
my question is will my engine running fine/ able to drive before i put the kit on? (9:1 compression ratio instead of 9.6:1 stock)
also, will i able to pass smog due to lower the compression ratio?
thank you
