Default wideBand

hi,

I just done to construct my WB o2 and i would like to know at witch level a need to tune it.

I know that the best is 14.7 but i already blow an engine so maybe it's better a bit richer?

You have a lot to learn my friend.

You definetly want it to be richer then that under boost. I like 12.5-12.7:1, but thats a little on the lean side. You would probably want 12.0 and go from there. Under high vacuum you could easily tune to 16:1 and be sure that you richen it up in low vacuum for a nice smooth transition into boost.

thanks for the reply.

For my engine that i blown, it's not me

When i go to a turbo shop to tune it, he tune it for 14.7 and blow it right away.

So it's for this i post this because this time I TUNE IT

Thanks

i was thinking in boost 11.5-12.5 was where we wanted it to be. 14.7 is for n/a motors right?

14.7 is only for partial throttle me thinks. Even N/A you wanna be higher than this for optimum power output, maybe around 13:1?

Your optimal power will always depend on your specific setup, but I always tune to 12:1 under boost for safety

I've been told that 13.5:1 is what an N/A engine prefers.

per my diagram that i got form ben strader there is way you can actually tune your car consistent across the baord. For light laod high way driving he was statting the honda can and will like ar 15:1 af ratio. Also as you the load increase you will have to richen up the mixture. Based on lambda i would assume i think .080-.085 would be a way to tune under high load and bosot this is based on most types of fuel

Sounds like you could be a perfect candidate for the EFI UNIVERSITY technical seminar called EFI 101.

The next one is coming up soon

civic1990 when your off boost u want to be no richier then 14.5 cause u can wash down the rings so im suggesting 15.0 depends what the motor likes but under boost it doesnt matter if your boosting 7lbs or 30lbs u want to be between 12.0 to 12.8 any leanier u have a good chance your gonna hurt the motor any richier u start to lose power and start to wash down the rings so i suggest under boost keep it between that and the motor will love it and what makes your motor happy makes u happy good luck kidd
