Default Why is my torque so low????

dynoed the car a couple of weekes ago. made 465 whp and 309 ft/lb @23 psi. after seeing other different dyno graphs , my torque seem to be fairly low. how can i tune for more torque?

set up : B18C1
83mm / 8.5CR
t4 turbo
portflow head and jg manifold.

smaller turbo will get you more torque.

the lower in the rpm band your engine creates power, the more torque there will be..

HP is a function of torque.

yeah...I'd have to tend to agree that your T4 may be big...do you have a dyno graph?

I thought that the TD05-18G produced pretty low torque at higher boost levels... Like 200ftlbs on a 320whp setup on a B18C1, whereas a larger T3/T04E would produce more torque at the same whp... I'm confused

If u run a turbo that is perfectly sized for ur motor it will produce the most balance of hp and tq. A real big turbo might not make high torque cause it is not efficient down @ say 5k rpm's but it will make alot more hp @ 8500.

Reason greddy makes weak tq and hp compared to a T04e is cause it is too small.

but fastrax- i agree ur torque is a little low for 23psi. usually a t04e @ 23psi is making closer to 350tq. what size turbo are u running? id say the low compression is contriuting too

I think it's a combination of everything. Big mother of a T4 turbo, lower compression than most people run, the ported head and the JG edelbrock intake are all contributing to the lack of low end, IMHO.
