Why does my car stutter when hitting VTEC?
I will be in first and punch it, its not too bad of a stutter, but if I am in second and I give it some gas, it hits vtec and bogs a decent amount.
Anyone with any ideas? Would the cause be too lean or too rich?
Thanks,
mike

i think i may be fine, i leaned it out a tad and it helped. I think the problem is the shop that did my engine swap used a GSR ECU..vtec at 4400.
I was wondering if anyone knows if a turbo would make this more pronounced? Because with my N/A setup it wasn't too bad of a stutter.
Thanks,
mike

Yea, upper your vtec and then go get your hair did.
i figured it was the turbo making it more pronounced!mike
Just a thought, Have you checked your oil. Seems to be a plague of non working Vtec cars that forgot all about oil pressure. And then cant imagine why the motor smokes a few thouisand miles later???

nope, never checked my oil...cars use oil?
im familiar with that problem, but thats not it. VTEC doesn't engage AT ALL if oil pressure is an issue.
