my setup is b-series greddy kit with tubular manifold, gsr tb, 60mm im, dsm 450's, smc+, apexi n1... so okie... the other day i tried to tighten my internal wastegate to raise the boost.. after i did it, it raise it from 8lbs to 9lbs.. but in 2nd gear on when it hits about full boost(5200), boost bounces.. i see it bounce from 8lbs to 9lbs and you can feel it jerking back and fourth.. could it be the wastegate? the management? what?? someone help.. i dont like how it feels...

 

and when it bounces, it's like it's redlining.. not boost spike..

 

i've seen boost spike, creep, and seen it spike and then level off, but i've never seen it bounce back and forth repeatedly. what kinda bov are u running? if u can't find a fix, i'd say just return the wg to normal and get a mbc at least.

 

hmm... the bov is a blitz... i was going to get a mbc.. anyone else ahve a thought?

 

make the gap on your plugs slightly smaller, you might just be getting a litlle miss from you ignition not firing the boosted mixture. If it doesnt help out that elimated one thing it could be. Check the simple stuff first, how long ago did you do a tune up.

try an mbc and not putting the spring to its max, it may just not be able to handle that psi with a lot of accuracy.

No he wouldnt, why would a miss fire at cause the motor to blow up?

Come on really blow up? its very common to have missfires when you put boost on a factory N/A car, the ignition from the factory isnt always up to the task of firing the denser mixture.

Just try it it might be as simple as a cap and rotor or plugs. K.I.S.S. you know!

i know on vw gtis when there blow off valve is to big they go back and forth like that i know they fix by putting in a diverter valve instead of bov

 

boost surging owns. it's something with the wastegate i'm sure. i've seen boost surging like that on 1.8T's also. try using the mbc as someone suggested

 

yea.. i was going to loosen up the WG and run MBC and try that out.. its fine once it's till it hits high boost.. thanks guys..
