Default White smoke...bad....

I have and older T3 and have noticed some white smoke coming from my tailpipe while at idle, short times after boosting. This condition disappears when driving but has been getting progressively worse as of recent times.

Could excess crankcase pressure and a not so short oil return line be saturating my T3 seals ? If so, should I remove the PCV ?

both myself and my turbo GSR friend have a bit of white smoke that comes out from the tailpipe when idling around.....

I know what this symbolizes (coolant in combustion chambers, cracked headgasket, etc), but I doubt that we have this problem because the compression is fine on both of our cars, and the motors are in great shape.

I just assumed that it was condensation, but these symptoms seem to occur even when it's dry and hot out..

question, is there any other way for coolant to enter the cumbustion chamber other then a bad head gasket?

in my case i notice a lot of droplets building up in the exhaust tip. I dont really have to fill the car with coolant, and i didnt notice any water in the oil.

That is true, but the smoke from no cat is on acceleration, not idle.

The smoke is not constant and happens at idle after boost.

I would pull the head and check out the gasket before it goes when your at 6k. It could be leaking just a few drops into your cylinders for now, but it will get worse.

Well, removed the PCV plug from the valve cover for a run.... wooo hooo was that a mistake ! oil everywhere... (lesson learned). So I put it back on and as Murphy's law states... the **** started smoking even more... it now happens EVERY time I come to idle, whether I pass 1 psi or not !

And the smoke is alot ! If I were in Cali they'd arrest me for killing birds and obstructing low flying aircraft.

The only good news is it is in the 50's in Miami and I gained like 0.5 psi and the car is crazy fast... too bad I don't wanna boost until it's fixed... had to let a CL type S drive off with my pride tonite as I stayed below atmospheric

I will check the headgasket tomorrow, thanks for the info so far fellas !

Shortened my oil return line and built a tubing system to route excess oil from the valve cover to the outside, I think the turbo might be still retaining oil after boost.

The smoke is down considerably, but it's still present for brief periods of time.

Anyone out there totally bypass the PCV system and built a pressure relief ?

BOV sounds odd... but that's another topic...
