I have a built b16 motor with the following.

9.5:1 je pistons
eagle rods
polished crank, cams, valves, rods
3 angle valve job

and compression numbers range from 190-200.

i seem to burn 1 quart of oil a month. And I was wanting to put boost through the motor but i want to get the oil problem figured out first. no smoke out the valve cover breather or exhast. the motor sounds like a diesel a little bit also but everyone has said it was ok, for example a few shops around here, Kansas, TX.

so if anyone has a clue that would be awesome.

P.S. the motor was broke in properlly with non-synthetic oil and has only ran synthetic oil since brake in.

leak down test.. sounds like somebody needs new valve seals...

Fact: high performance motors sip a bit of oil.
rather than a quart a month, how many miles per quart? that would give us a better understanding of whats going on. May be valve seals, may be your driving habbits, may be a combanation of both. And yes built internals make noise, my LS sounds like a diesel allso. You can performe a leakdown test yourself by going and buying a leak down tester.

Thanks for the help rjardy! I would say i drive about 1000-2000 a month depending one the situations. The motor now has 15,000 on it runs great just sips some oil so i was just wondering if i should go for the boost or not. I will be doing a leak down test and see what exactly is going on with my motor.
