Default Burning Oil ?

I have a GSR in a hatch and I usually drive it hard, I changed my oil about a month ago and I burned enough oil that my Vtec no longer worked is this a big concern?

this is a huge concern. you probably burnt your rings which would explain that low compression your motor has. i would suggest a total re-build or a new motor. you'd probably be faster with a nice fresh d15.

If your motor is know to burn oil it's a GOOD idea to check it regularly. If not your motor will die a slow death eventaully leaving you hybridless or even worse stranded. Betta get a cell phone if you don't have one.

Do an oil consumption test to determine exactly how much oil you are actually burning. Top off the oil to the full line, and check your oil regularly, keeping track of how many miles it takes to burn a quart of oil. Sounds like you are burning a substantial amount, you may be looking at valve guide seals, rings, or even a bore job with oversize pistons and rings. Also make sure to check for any oil leaks. If you are burning the oil, you should see blue smoke when you rev the engine up. Good luck.

buring excessive amounts of oil like that is not a good sign.
rings may be worn terribly, valveguide seals also. maybe a major oil leak that you didn't see. always make sure you have enough oil in the motor, even if it means checking the level a couple times a week. if you drive hard and long then it's gonna disappear quickly.

You should run a compression &/or leakdown test to figure out where the oil is going.
