Default when buying t-bolt clamps - sizing?

Dumb question but I had to ask.

When buying T-bolt clamps do I buy a size UP or just the same size as piping?

EX 2.5" piping + coupler = do I get 2.5" or 2.75 t-bolt clamp?

Depends on where you are buying them from and you might call to ask before you order to avoid getting alot of the wrong sizes.

If they list actual sizes then yes you need to compensate for the coupler like you said, per say for 2.5" piping + coupler = you need a 2.75" tbolt.

However some places are starting to list the sizes having already compensated for the coupler thickness. Those usually list them just by the pipe size they are for but are actually larger to correct for the coupler.

2.5" piping + silicone coupler = 2.75" clamp
