Default Head Gasket

So I was just wondering about the different thicknesses of headgaskets. I dont know to much about them and was wondering if anyone can explain why you would want to have a thicker gasket.

I was using a cometic .60 and i think i blew it on my h22 low comp turbo. thinking maybe it might have been too thick or maybe i should buy a better name gasket.
Anyone know any good headgaskets for 87.5mm h22a darton sleeved?

Having a thicker head gasket will yield a lower compression ratio.. Having a thinner head gasket will yield a higher compression ratio.. Other than sealing the block and head the different thickness is used to change the compression ratio to ones likes.

A thicker headgasket would lower your compression.

OEM headgasket....never had an issue with one.

Use a Golden Eagle head gasket. Golden Eagle uses OEM hg and machines them to fit any application.

The boost level has nothing to do with your head gasket.

Also, talk in terms of horse power, stating a boost level doesn't mean much. First determine a horse power goal and buy parts to meet that goal; the boost level required to make that horse power goal will be determined by what parts you use. For example, if you use a small exhaust like 2.25 inch you might need 14psi to make your horse power goal but if you use a 3 inch exhaust you might only need 10psi of boost to make the same power.

My first gasket was off of golden eagle and then i went cometic my second time. Well I know that your setup varies your boost level and horsepower. I know that with my current manifold i wont make my 500hp goal so I am just going to get it tuned to around 20psi and what ever that makes it makes. Till i get my manifold and tial wastegate.
I made 284hp and 248tq on 11psi

low compression and a log manifold didnt help with the hp/boost level

anyone know any site to get arp headstuds for less then 120?

I wouldn't trust eBay for something as important as headstuds. Just pay the full price for peace of mind.

Hmm, that's why I said to stay away from eBay. Is the $10 worth the risk for getting fake parts?
