Id say 300 max with stock rods. If your gonna get forged pistons...why not spend the extra $300 and get some rods also?? i would also ditch the block gaurd. Try searching under archives you will find tons of info.

Check out this thread. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1478127

I would also agree ditch the block gaurd and get some rods. When you say safe it depends on the tune, and if it is a daily driver. I would keep it conservative.

ok so get some rods and ditch the blockguard? i know some people argue that blockguards are worthless, but isnt it just another form of insurance?

Talk to some of the guys on this board who make big numbers on stock sleeves. It's all in the building/tuning. When guys make 600+ hp w/o them why risk it?

Alright, I guess im confused. I checked out the links so far. I have a buddy that had a Integra GSR push over 400 hp on stock rods. It never blew, the turbo blew on it but the rods never had any problems.

The thing im curious about is the block guard. Why is it a bad deal. Does it not protect the block? Im still new to the Honda world so I dont know all that much about the engines. But I was going to do forged pistons and a block guard here very soon in prep to boosting my gsr.
