well i have a sohc greddy kit but its on a dx tranny i ran a 14.9 and this week i am getting an ex tranny i was woundering whats the best i can hope for? i wanna get to the 13's to show this kid up who talks ****.. you think 10lbs will get me there with the tranny? i am also a dx coupe with the ex motor.. i guess i should mention that..

i was jus noticing u dont have a BOV...maybe u should get one before increasing the boost...jus my $.02

oh and i think u can get high 13's @10psi...with proper tuning...i know that the dx has taller gearing than the si or ex so i would think that you would get better times with that...

Get yourself a Hondata and the EX tranny, and you should be able to run up to 12 psi with that setup and run 13's no problem.

well i will try the ex tranny and skip the hondata for now.. but thanks for the help.. we will see in aout 2 weeks what i really can do..i am kinda scared.. i just want a 13 something..

do the SOHC turbo kits come with a 14b dsm turbo? Also, is that running with the blue box or an fmu setup?

edit: Oh wait, I see the fmu!! hahaha, what's the rise rate of the fmu?

none of them come with a DSM 14B turbo it comes with a TD04-15G turbo wit a t25 style flange ( do not mistaken for mitsu T25)

Okay, so how exactly do those two turbos differ? Are they pretty close to the same charactersitics in terms of cfm?

i think they're completley diffrent, but im not 100% sure, the shape and design of the housing etcc is all diffrent. compressor and turbine. The mitsu is abnormal, its a small turbo it its " long" in terms of width, which makes it a bitc to do a downpipe on etcc. And it also as the ability to run open atmosphere internal wastegate whhich helps majorly with boost creep.

whats the diff between the t25 and 14b? which one would be the better option on a stock ls?

my best time on the greddy kit was a 14.0 with a 1.462 60ft @ 7psi. that was on full slicks on a stock motor. only upgrades were the ignition and fuel pump. if you plan on running 10psi make sure to retard timing and run race fuel. not safe otherwise not on a stock bottom end.

14b can hold more boost without falling off, but the T25 spools quicker. The spooling difference isnt that much, Id personally go with the 14b. A lot of guys with 2nd gen DSM's switch out the T25 for the 1st gen 14b. However, you are going to be hard pressed to find one of those in good condition these days. (i.e. no shaft play, oil coking, etc.)
