What's Better, A 3 Inch Downpipe or
What's Better, A 3 Inch Downpipe or install an interchangable pipe after the downpipe. I was thinking this because I have a tight fit to try to make a 3 inch downpipe work since I have A/C. So I figured whenever I go to the track I could just get underneath the car and unbolt about a foot and a half of pipe to race. What do yall think???

You pansy Just yank out the a/c, saves some weight too!
How does that thing work? What you just weld it in and unbolt those bolts when you want?

this one can open by pulling the cord from inside your car. Imagine an open downpipe in a second for a street light race. Too bad it only comes in 2" diameter, good for dual exhaust V8s

It comes with a gasket and has a perfect seal. Like the other guy said you could use nuts but I just tighten the wingnuts with a wrench, when they break ill use the nuts.

Hehe maybe duals on a slow *** V8! 2 inch exhaust, are you nuts???
BTW - Unless they've improved in the last 10 years, those ones with the cables NEVER seal up all the way. You'll be driving around with a leaky sounding exhaust.

Some area's will give you tickets for open DP. When you get enough tickets like I did they deem the car un-street worthy and tell you it can't be licensed as one until it gets an exhaust. I still haven't put one on it, and I don't know if I ever will.

Re: What's Better, A 3 Inch Downpipe or (tzsir)
I'm just gonna have my friend cut 1 1/2 foot of pipe right after the downpipe and put a flange on each end so I can remove it when I go to the track.

If you really want to do this, then have somebody weld a section of pipe onto your exhaust, then weld on a 3" 3 bolt header flange, then make a cap using another flange. That's all this is...

LOL, yeah, I love my Honda, but when I was 18 I built an 11 sec Dodge (dual 2.5" exhaust) and I'll bet the fastest any Honda was running back then was about 20 seconds
