he is just talking about how much a mandrel bend will cost....they are about $15 -$20 for stainless steel at jegs.com.

i know but i think the guy doesnt want to have to cut prebent pipe and re-weld it into a downpipe.. i think he wants to do it all in one piece, and i think his idea might work, but then again, it would be really hard to bend the pipe with the sand inside, it would take A LOT of force

mandrel bends, flanges, bungs, gaskets, cut and weld and presto...you have a new exhaust system, and muffler if needed

good point but i can get a long peice and and bend it like this, i know the sand method works because my dad used the method in the 70's in tech college so hey must work, BTW is there any difference between the tubing they use in DP's then just regular exhaust tubing?

if youre making a dp only, chances are its omly about 2-3ft long at the most, 2 bends will cost the same as a 3-4ft staright piece. just buy the bends, it will be easier IMO

Czansohc- i remember you

it would be the easiest to just go to a muffler/exhaust shop, but if you want to DIY just get pre bent piping, cut and weld, it wont be that hard to do at all... if you can weld
